Assassination Classroom
This is a unique manga with a really interesting plot. I watched the anime too. The ending is conflicting and it made me feel sad because it ended too soon. I think Koro-sensei, Nagisa, those teachers, and Karma were the only characters that stood out throughout the story and everyone else is just kinda.. not there? I wish there were more events where the classroom actually focused on creative strategies to kill Koro-sensei instead of just shooting him with a gun or whacking him with a knife. Overall, this is a great manga and the ending is quite sad.
Solo Leveling
I actually love this story a lot. But I noticed a few flaws here & there that might bother new readers. First of all, Jinwoo is wayyyyyyy too overpowered in strength and intelligence. This has a repetitive story line until up to like 100 chapters and Jinwoo is just fighting enemies and beating the shit out of them throughout those chapters. Rinse and repeat. Normally, I would find this boring asf. However, I forgave it because the fighting scenes were too damn good. And also about the ‘system’. There were a few holes and questions that were left unanswered. I thought that once Jinwoo faced ‘the creator’ of the system, then he would ask how the system was created and all about those deities. But nope, Jinwoo beat the shit out of the creator and then the creator died and then the system got deleted and I am left confused. The creator only vaguely answered some things and then died. Maybe I just have a tiny brain but I still don’t get it. Anyway, after Jinwoo regressed back into time and saved the whole world, he met with that blonde girl again (forgot her name). I’m very excited to see their side stories. I love this.
Delivery Knight
Woah, the fight scenes are super sick. However, I have multiple questions. The black-haired delivery knight, why is he so overpowered? It doesn’t seem like he has any supernatural powers or anything. It looks as if the author just made up his character to help Sawol get through life? He has pure brute strength, it’s kinda strange, like where did he get it from? I hate that Sawol is just unrealistic strong. She’s all bones, literally. She went up against some guys 100x more powerful than her, her body should’ve snapped into pieces but it didn’t because of her plot armor. None of the side characters were particularly important, (besides for scar face) they only appeared in a fight scene for a chapter or two and then disappeared. A little boring. The ending was rushed and unsatisfying asf. Sawol went through all those battles to meet with Seulah again but they didn’t even show any side stories. Is it a happy ending or nah? I dislike stories that leave the ending for the reader’s interpretation.
Jinmen
Aha, absolutely mortifying. The artwork makes my skin crawl. Basically, resentful animals turn into monstrous killing machines that wreak havoc on humanity. The main character goes through a plethora of near-death situations but somehow miraculously survives. There is a load of gore in every nook and cranny of each chapter. Pretty good in terms of horror. Unfortunately, I think it was dropped by the translation team.
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint
I like this. The story has a really intricate plot and storyline, it’s hard to summarize when there are over 500 chapters in the novel. The characters are absolutely captivating, I’m obviously referring to Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk. Normally, I don’t like it when the main characters have reincarnated numerous times but this is different. The author really shows how Yoo Joonghyuk’s mental health deteriorated throughout his regressions, his character is honestly admirable. I also love Kim Dokja’s character. I was doubtful about him because I was unsure if he would be able to fit into the new supernatural world setting, but he played his character perfectly. There are a collection of unique obstacles that KDJ had to face and I was really rooting for him. But I also like the fact that he lost several battles because it’d be a downside if he won too much. I’m glad that they made YJH overpowered instead of KDJ. I liked how KDJ earned his abilities instead of having everything handed to him. The side characters also play an important role in the story rather than KDJ taking on everything by himself. The art is alright and the fighting scenes are exceptional. I hear people crying and saying that there is angst in this story but I don’t see it, I think it’s more about action. I relate to Kim Dokja as a fellow reader. Us readers get to see the exact feelings, emotions, and thoughts of all the characters in the story. This goes for Kim Dokja too, except he’s actually in the novel. I didn’t mark this as Isekai because it’s more like the novel came into real life, not him transferring into the novel. So that’s really unique and I honestly like the idea more than Isekai. I never knew that I liked the apocalypse-trope so this is a new experience. Overall, very interesting.
Card Captor Sakura
I used to be obsessed with the anime of this when I was younger, it’s not as good as I remember but it’s a magical girl fighting spirits and collecting them in cards. What more could an 8 year old girl want? The art panels in this are low quality and the animation in the anime is average. Giving this high marks because of my inner child.
