Perfect Propose

Complete | Tsurukame mayo | 2019 released

Stressed out salaryman (uke) being overworked at a black company suddenly runs into a kid, now grown up, he knew back in middle school (seme). Seme asks to move in temporarily while his boss, who he lives with, is in the hospital. Watching Hiro be stressed and worn down mentally by that job was starting to stress ME out (â‹Ÿīšâ‹ž). Shotout to Kaneko, his team lead or smth, for encouraging him to quit and pointing out just how badly the chief has twisted his image of himself. Kai's life was also sad af, just neglect after neglect, and it shows so clearly through his mindset. I really liked the old guy who took him. Also props to the son for recognizing what a shitty thing he did and genuinely apologizing for it. I liked a lot about this story, but the ending was just unsatisfying. It feels abrupt and like it didn't solve the underlying issues. Hiro quits his jobs, which I was rooting for. But Kai just abandons the old man who's cared for him for the past 5 or 6 years. There's nothing wrong with Kai moving on, I just wanted some scene with the old guy where he talks about it, so we can resolve that plot thread. idk. This was almost a 9; the ending brought it down to a 7; Kaneko, the old man, and the son brought it back up to an 8/10

Usotsuki wa Shinshi no Hajimari

Complete | MATSUO Marta | 2000 released

That cant be it. No way that's it. We were just getting started. Jonathan is a med student just tryna live his life. He and his professor, the affluent Paul Haskins, take turns seducing each other, getting on each others nerves, and dancing endlessly around their almost lovers relationship. A lot of the conflict centers around honesty, being honest with others but and to yourself. The characters dredge up old, painful memories and have to grapple with a very homophobic, rich people culture that just... [insert sigh here] Update ch 8.5. ??????? The... the alternate ending feels like it resolved even less????? It was good. 8/10

Houkago Edge

Complete | muno | 2014 released

This was just unpleasant for me. Like I'm glad he sincerely apologized for taking things too far, but he keeps doing the same thing that spike Tobari's anxiety like making Tobari think his classmates are at the movie theater. My hobbies are all socially accepted so I cant speak to the distress Tobari must be feeling. Inui clearly has his own inner turmoil and is probably hiding it just as much as Tobari is, he's just also an asshole. I'm glad Tobari grew a backbone and is starting to accept what he likes. People really be out here complaining that a character has realistic insecurities lol. Anyway. Its complicated I guess. I think the characters are realistic especially in the way they lash out when they're hurt or scared. They dont exactly live in an environment where they can calmly express themselves and it does smth to a person to keep so much bottled up. Final verdict: This was good, but not the kinda good you read to feel good. 7 or 8/10

My Dear Agent

Complete | Ebino bisque | 2019 released

Everyone gets character development! and there are so many little funny moments. I thought I wasn't gonna like the young master kid but he turned out great after a bit of character development and Riichi learning to stop spoiling him. Art is CLEAN and the story is cute. 7/10

Kazoku Ni Narouyo

Complete | KURAHASHI Tomo | 2016 released

This is so sweet and fluffy AAAAAAHHHHH I love everything about this. Kazuma and Chiaki have been daring since high school. Suddenly their childhood friend Tomoe turns up pregnant and then asks them to care for the kid while she goes on a humanitarian trip. Its irresponsible of her, but the whole situation just works. Kazuma and chiaki are amazing dads and Tomoe still manages to be a good mom if an unconventional one. The whole story is kinda about them raising the kid together, all three of them, in their own weird adorable way. And they have lots of support from family and friends. I love it. 9/10

Seikaku Kuzu De Nani Ga Warui

Complete | SHISHITO Kalali,SHISHITOU Karari,SHISITO Karari,SHISITOU Karari | 2016 released

Was expecting this to be cliche, but it's actually tor a lot of depth. The characters have some interesting conversations that make this feel almost like a character study. Tsuzuki (seme) feels like your usual perfect popular seme but he's got more substance to him that I cant describe. Hanaura feels like your usual gloomy, outcast uke but you actually get ro see his inner thoughts and piece together why he is the way he is. I frickin love this 8/10

Boyfriend 17

Complete | Yoshida Yuuko | 2020 released

Dunno how to summarize this one. Uh, seme is a 17 yr old model, who's genearlly known to be callous and emotionless. Uke is like a writer or something who gets involved with the seme. Uke is very pure and doesn't want sex without. Seme sleeps around without any emotions attached and that causes a lot of friction between them. Very off and on story Seme is a literally a kid (17 yrs, so yikes) and really struggles with communicating his feelings and winds up talking like he doesn't care which only makes this relationship more complicated. Overall, I kinda liked this, but it also irked me and I'm not a huge fan of adult x minor with massive age gaps hmmm. 7/10?

Ookami-sama no Koiwazurai

Complete | Tobi washio | 2019 released

Very cute. impressively consensual and the relationship feels mutual, like both the uke and the seme put effort into it. Also bunny friend is hilarious. 8/10
