I'm so glad they didn't end up dating I see myself in Midori and I'm happy that they both grew out of the past ok but Midori is so strong fr; if I saw my dead lover's daughter who looked exactly like her, moving on would be so hard Midori, 31 years old once had a classmate that quickly became someone closer to a lover back in middle school named Tsugumi. Midori was the low self-esteem, quiet, out of place girl while Tsugumi was the more social, popular student. Suddenly after graduation, Tsugumi disappeared and headed to Tokyo (later revealed) without telling anyone. Seventeen years later, Midori was an ordinary office worker and one day her home phone number received a call from Tsugumi's relative out of the blue for an invitation to Tsugumi's funeral. Midori, who still hasn't moved on from her precious person, accepted and there, she met Tsugumi's 14 year old daughter, the spitting image of her mother. Without a place to go, a father who separated from the family ages ago, and relatives unwilling to take her in, people suggested to bring her to a child institution (like an orphanage) but just then, Midori (still the unconfident young girl from back then) interrupted and offered to take her in.

simple story yet so raw teared up a couple of times it's just smth abt seeing the wall that distant and nonchalant characters put up slowly break and then crumble down all at once side stories ending is not it tho
