Pumpkin Time

Complete | Gaedarae | 2019 released

One of the best 'slice of life' manhwa's I've read. It was the first gender bend Manhwa I ever read and I enjoyed it a lot. The main characters are childhood friends but after middle school they go their separate ways, yet they never stop thinking about each other. After the ML left the country, the MC moved to a different school to hide her secret (that she/he became a girl). But out of nowhere the ML shows up at her school and their lives start to get entangled again. Though it does feature love triangles and girl x boy friendships, the drama never gets annoying and the characters don't become hateful towards each other. Art: The art is incredible. It's both full-color and depicts all the expressions in a detailed manner. 10/10 Plot: The plot never feels rushed of extended. Though there are times where the miscommunication and secret-keeping start to become a lot, it keeps the plot going really well. At the end every sentence and every picture seemed to have been needed for the plot. 9/10 Ending: The ending isn't exactly satisfying but it's appropriate in every, possible way. 8.5/10

Day by Day

Ongoing | 개다래 | 2000 released

Probably THE best 'slice of life' Manhwa I've read. It is by far my favourite romance Manhwa in that category and I've read it hundreds of times. It never get's old. The main characters are childhood friends but after the ML confesses his love to the MC, and she rejects him, they fall apart. Both thinking they went to different schools, they are surprised to find each other at their new high school. Through multiple hardships their lives always seem to lead back to each other and the confusion of the MC and the family problems of the ML don't make their lives any easier. Though this does feature multiple love triangles, the characters don't become hateful towards each other. Art: The art is incredible. It's both full-color and depicts all the expressions in a detailed manner. 10/10 Plot: Though there are parts of the plot that have annoyed me to no end like the continuous confusion of the MC and all the misunderstandings that take forever to get cleared up, I loved EVERY part of it. The plot is extremely cliche for a 'slice of life' romance manga but the hardheadedness of the MC paired with the puppy love of the ML makes it an extremely interesting and enjoyable read. 9.5/10 Ending: The ending wasn't satisfying and while I didn't understand the choice of the author to do it that way, I respect it. 8/10
