Mayday mayday mayday!
I didn’t really like how the characters were portrayed in this. I’m never fond of mafia Boss type stories and the mafia boss is a dangerous and vicious person. So to me it wasn’t believable that he would allow himself to have a weakness of falling in love with someone else - there would be too much risk - such as letting his lover to wander around with no protection ie: bodyguards- or to minimise the risk I could see his character locking his lover up as precaution so he wouldn’t be kidnapped or killed to get to the boss. The love interest was an accountant and did all the money laundering. He also feared him. He sounded like he was quite promiscuous before working for the mob boss. But for the year working for him he didn’t sleep with anyone- he didn’t want it known he was gay and to catch even more of the bosses attention. The danger level was glossed over as the ‘love’ story took the prominent role. It just wasn’t realistic. I kinda get that the accountant was used by some ppl around him and was put in the position where he was trapped and had no choice to be involved with the boss. And he couldn’t see a way out of the situation without being killed. But that’s why I didn’t really like it as a love story. Anyway I don’t want to read again
