the angst was realistic but I can't handle historically accurate depictions of gay people. I can't read more, the grandpa's story was actually heart-wrenching holy shit

-2 stars because the sudden timeskip pretty much undid any character introduction/development, the mc is unrecognizable and we don't even know what he's been through edit: ch 31 is weird... what is going on im so confused edit: at chapter 37. -1 star, everything's escalating so quickly and the author is too fixated on world detail when they weren't previously and it's jarring. I'm no critic but this had so much potential judging from the first few chapters. Dropped :(
