Harada, you twisted evil genius. This is one I've been putting off for so long and finally reading—it was super worth it. I'm a very big fan of psychological fucked up romance mangas, especially when the writing is blunt and real to life, I couldn't care less about whatever trope, dynamic, situation an author will write, as long as it's done accurately. Harada, we have a messed up relationship. I forgive you for that other manga (Nii-chan) with this.
It's not an ideal yaoi romance or anything like that, but it's top fucking tier in my book. The ominous panels shared carefully, the top tier dialogue, the character analysis and seeing such a self destructive character still continue to be self destructive because he isn't actually getting any help—I love it. Their dynamic is awesome, 2nd vol. Definitely elevated this manga. Both characters are great (not morally) in their own strengths, Shou reacts as how he should and so does Fukusuke.
The way this author writes and depicts these characters thoughts, expressions and actions really show the thrill and tension of the whole manga; if there's a word for this kind of writing I'd say it's "blunt." Cause its rare food to get "yandere/manipulative" character dynamics isn't sugar-coated toxic romance. Give it to me straight! Give it to me *raw*! Harada, you surprised me everytime and I'm forever grateful that you've blessed us beloved readers with such a carefully and perfectly crafted yandere. I genuinely don't know if he's improved or not, and the implication he's still as evil it's just mwa.
A really good interesting read. Thank you Harada-sensei
PS. The Drama CD for this Manga is even greater; an elevated adaptation with a great cast of voice Actors. Especially Fukusuke's I love listening to. He encaspulates Fuku's duality so well, the way he masks and switches his tone, the changes in pitch that make it even more eerie than simply reading itself, everything about this manga is a masterpiece.
