Hitsuji no Kawa wo Kita Kemono
Whoever said this manga is bad…fuck you. Not all mangas have to be fluffy and perfect, some are hard to swallow and are bittersweet. I really liked this manga, even kind of loved it, it was really interesting and I didn’t feel bored at all, like it’s so unique. I wish there was a proper ending though…like to see that “happy ending” we all wished for.
Hare no Hi (ASADA Nemui)
It's a oneshot, but such a wonderful one. Someone wrote: "In such short pages I was able to understand a lot, this will be a piece of work that people will admire and learn from as well as save life. I believe the author goal is exactly that^^ more people should accept themself, more people should accept the abnormal, do not disgust the different but learn more and understand themselves." True. This oneshot is surprisingly about self-love, and it was beautifully written and drawn.
Ringo ni Hachimitsu
The first story is a little more easy going and sweet, although there is some bitterness with his ex and that they weren’t out to their friends, it didn’t make me want to cry but just be happy and want to fall in love too. The second story, wow, so bittersweet, almost made me cry. The feeling of emptiness in your own life, that everything you have is nothing, is such a terrible feeling. I need a sequel to see what happens with them.
Blue! Blue! Blue!
The amount of emotion in every face, damn, there is a lot of angst but it just made me feel good reading this...which is surprising because I usually cannot handle angst lol. The whole story is so bittersweet, starting with Takiya's boyfriend cheating to Honjou's long unrequited love getting married, but them both finding comfort with each other. I love characters like Takiya's that are straightforward and assertive but in a not attacking predatory kind of way lol. I needed more lovey-dovey at the end, and thank god here is an extra.
Gunjou no Subete
Ahhh…bittersweet love! Ths dialogue and thoughts behind the characters were SO good, felt like real people. The fear behind the accidental confession and all the times his heart was skipping a beat, going along with “straight” humor towards the friend he actually loves. It was beautifully written, though I did wish to see more of Ren’s side, and I really need a sequel of their relationship!!!!
Ao to Midori
This is really heart-wrenching, but a nice story to read, is if quite sad that it took Midori soooo long to come to terms with his sexuality and his feelings toward Aoyama (like 10 years???), so happy all is well in the end...can't believe Aoyama had stayed "loyal" in his feelings so many years lol. A couple of idiots, needed more of their happy data as a couple. OH and that friend is such a slay, supportive as fuck but why did you not interfere moreeee, IT WOULD HAVE MADE EVERYTHING HAPOEN FASTER.
