Path to You
Is all about Elle's supremacy. Jensen also is the most understanding character I've ever read. Although I understand where Niel is coming from, how Jensen reacts to all Niel's misunderstandings is the most unrealistic thing to happen, but this is a feel good read and a good one once all the squables end and once you get over the urge to kind of bonk Niel in the head.
Hate Mate
So this was really bittersweet. I loved how the author made it so clear that Subin and Hyungwoo were not meant for each other at least for that period of their life, be it bc inmaturity from both parts and missed words or opportunities. Most of the time that makes me not to root for that kind of couple, but here all characters are presented so incongruent, selfish, confused and craving company in their solitude that it made me root for all of them. Even the older character, Kand Jun, I wished it was more understandable how he went from "get this child out" to "shit I love him, stay", but I really liked he wasn't fully grown in every aspect of his life only bc he's 29; unlike Hyungwoo he already had accepted his sexuality and was a bit more upfront with his feelings, but he wasn't necessarily know it all in love or mature for that matter. They all have to grow up and it was nice to read it. I didn't have a favorite character, I just loved how the plot developed, but this phrase in the extras by Jun: "To have someone who'd just embrace me like that without question, without conditions... that's enough for me. To me that's happiness." I mean dude, yes, exactly (I'm old and this all I want really).
Angel Buddy
The art, the plot, the characters... I loved this. P.S. Translators and their comments/memes at the chapter's end are the best, they made me laugh so much, thank you for you work.
Royal Servant
So no explanation as to why Kyon was sent to Lucaon's house, how he was going to be part of this big plot of killing the guy? No resolution with the zeros and that shady organization, or the VS solution and its antidote? I mean, yeih romance, but it was kind of disappointing. I think the sense of time was not always clear and some moments in every character's developement or relationship lost gravitas bc of that. Kyon and Lucaon's relationship didn't start off that well and it got boring really soon for me; except for the last part of facing Kyons's mortality, I mean that was good, but since I was like "did they forgot the plot?" it didn't carry the weight it could have. With the authors' final note as to how the story was conceived, it really shows why at the end the most interesting characters for me were Sihan and Karis. And also Ryan, oh boy how I wished the story had been about Ryan helping make the VS Solution, if only. Angel Buddy (their next work) is such an improvement in both resolutions and art, but here the art still is gorgeous.
