The Beast Must Die
I’m between a 4 - 5 star for this. Maybe a 4.5 would have suited it best. The plot is ok, interesting enough to keep me reading especially in the beginning. But once they got rid of that Secret Club, it all became kinda meh after that as though it lost a bit of direction. Kang Moo is a typical psychopath and stays true to the character so that was nice to read, more often than not some authors tend to “change” their characters which is highly unrealistic. Overall, yeah, I’d recommend it but I wouldn’t say this moved me or brought out any sort of strong emotions.
Monster In The Mist
I absolutely speed ran the main plot of this manhwa because it was so intriguing! It has a decent amount of science that’s not too complicated to understand and just an overall decent plot to figure out what actually happened. Sure, some parts to solving the mystery were convenient but it didn’t take anything away from the plot. Now the characters are also great - one is fighting to live while the other is fighting to die. It was a nice contrast with a happy ending. Overall, the plot doesn’t have much drama / conflict so it’s quite a light read. Would recommend!
Smyrna & Capri
Holy hell… BWT have done it again. Easily a masterpiece. Art is amazing - as expected. The storyline is also really good. I loved the plot and the characters, the final battle had me in tears. Seth / Seram is the greenest of green flags and Theo is just such a badass leader. They started off as enemies but turns out they were destined soulmates. The plot is just beautiful. I love how it doesn’t just skip over the fact that Theo did some horrible things to Seth’s people. Every emotion was touched and addressed which just added so much depth to the storyline. This is a really good one, guys. Absolutely recommended
Tale of the Yellow Dragon
Overall, I definitely felt like this was interesting. The plot is premised around Dojin who is brought/transported/reincarnated (i don’t even know the correct term to use) to another world and becomes an emperor. By his side is the Yellow Dragon who has apparently turned back time 20+ times to avoid Dojin from facing a horrible death. So yes, I’d say the plot was quite intriguing just had some questions that I felt weren’t properly addressed, ie what exactly happened when Yellow Dragon turned back time that caused Black Tortoise’s lover to disappear? Since the main villain was based on that plotline, I felt like it could have been explained a bit more. But I’d still give it 5 stars and a good recommendation for people to give it a try.
Miscreants And Mayhem
I think I might just be biased against BWT that’s why I gave this 5 stars. But the art is insanely pretty, I feel like it would be a disservice to give it anything less than a 5 star. The plot though… it just really weirds me out that Pil-gyun calls Nanmu dad… especially when they’re having sex. It’s a very odd dynamic that I can’t really get over. And Nanmu was initially in love with Pil-gyun’s mom??? And now he’s in love with the son aka Pil-gyun??? It’s just… a weird dynamic overall. I really loved Jeol-ho though, I wish he got a better ending. Just that whole part about how his happiness was just seeing Nanmu happy got me a bit emotional. But also, THEY’RE BROTHERS??? Although they’re not blood related, but they really see each other as family, so that dynamic is also very very weird. So, to sum it all up, I guess the plot was ok? But the art sold it for me.
Okusama wa Alpha
Aww this was super cute!! Takaomi is such a green flag, I really love super-respectful alphas! My only issue with it is that it’s too short tbh but other than that, it’s great!
Kedamono Arashi
Honestly super duper cute! This whole series is a light and adorable read!
High Clear
This is definitely one of the stories that deserve more hype! All characters are such sweethearts in their own ways! Overall this was such a cute and fun read. Han Juwon, a Taekwondo athlete with a pension of scaring off people due to his demeanour falls for Park Jeong-min, a badminton athlete who seems to be an introverted/unbothered person. They’re honestly a match-made in heaven.
Do You Still Like Me?
Hmm, I actually really enjoyed reading this because the emotions involved have so many layers and background to it. The only thing is, I can’t really say it’s a masterpiece because I was confused for maybe half of the story since it sometimes jumped through timelines a bit. So I did have to try to piece things together sometimes and that may have taken away from the story. The art is insanely gorgeous though, and I truly did feel the conflicting emotions for each of the characters. I’ll probably re-read this again once the side stories are complete to try and fully comprehend everything. But overall, yeah, 5 stars and would recommend!
