Literature Boy
storyline: haejin and sunwoo are former highschool sweethearts who bonded over their love for writing and reading, but ended up breaking up on a bad note. now find each other again working for the same publishing company review: i think some plot points needed addressing and didn’t get the resolution we needed… did sunwoo tell haejin that he plagiarized his writing for the contest? when did sunwoo even read haejin’s writing before? i don’t think these were mentioned anywhere in the story and i believe these were key points in the narrative… a bit disappointing but not a bad story
Weak Hero
storyline: gray yeon starts his high school life at eunjang, where delinquents rule the place and bullying is everyday's special. they try to mess with him since he's pretty and weak-looking... but don't expect him to be a little crazy himself!! gray ends up meeting many characters from eunjang, as well as other schools, and ends up being involved with "the union", a dangerous multi-school delinquent organization run by a ruthless guy: donald na reaction: i got so goddamn invested in this, it was seriously one of the most incredible stories i've read. final chapters had me weeping over my computer wtf also the character dynamics?? their backstories??? the fight scenes????? absolutely fucking amazing, I LOVE THIS
Kill the Villainess
storyline: our main character wakes up inside eris miserian's body, the villainess in the book the mc is reading. she must find a way to return to her world, but the plot seems to ask her... to die. review: this was amazing!?? the art is incredible, the characters were well explored, and the focus on eris's mission as the key part of the narrative, unchanged and unfazed, is a welcome deviation from my initial assumption that this would be a story moved by romance. the fact that all of them were "cursed" in the end just makes it even more vindicating for the main character. also can god please send a man like anakhin my way PLEASE
Sweet Home
review: this was incredible, i can’t remember the last time i got this tense from reading… the build up scenes, the plot twists, the characters, the monsters… all of it was so amazing, even if the art itself wasn’t super detailed or clean. would absolutely recommend.
Secret Alliance
storyline: eun sian is a college girl with a phobia of men. can't be near them, talk to them, or even hold eye contact with them. a fellow college student, chae yuri, approaches her and confesses her feelings for sian, and, although sian doesn't return them, yuri sticks close to her at all times from then on. close enough to be by her side when sian gets harrassed by a drunk older man, and saved by a gorgeous blond man who turns out to be her coworker at her new part-time job. review: lorrrddd NEVER in a millions years would i have expected this story to take this path... yul, my guy, you're definitely committed but you need to BE committed to a mental hospital. what the fuck. thank god for yujin, poor sian deserved a happy ending!!
Roses and Champagne
storyline: leewon is a korean-russian attorney living in russia when he gets mixed up with caesar sergeev, a mafia heir who becomes interested in him. review: great art but 1) the seme’s was way too big!!! mutant-like, even!!! and 2) it’s kinda crazy how many times i said OUT LOUD “baby he SHOT you WHY do you love him!!???” edit: this was a 3 star story for me until i saw caesar tell leewon he could've picked a sexier weapon, leewon slam a gun into caesar's head and ask him "sexy enough for you?". then it became a 4 star story. i'm sorry, i don't make the rules. edit 2: nope, caesar just slit his own throat in the middle of the street because leewon said he was gonna break up with him. we're back to 3 stars, and it's really only that high because there are some good moments in this and the art is amazing. fuckkkkkk.
Redeem: Only One Forever
storyline: hangyeol loses his lover, taehyuk, in a car accident. in the middle of the street, hangyeol passes out and wakes up in his own body 10 years earlier, aged 11. he then makes it his mission to save taehyuk, currently a 28 year old vet who has no clue what the kid's deal is, all while figuring his way around his own brother's obsessive behavior. review: honestly? what a fucking great surprise. this concept had a strong chance of being developed into something weird and problematic, but execution was super well done. even the addition of a future-insighted taehyuk allowed for his character to see hangyeol as more than just the kid before him, so the age gap wasn't such a striking aspect... and even so, taehyuk's resolution of waiting a decade for the simple chance of his lover finding him and falling for him again... i love love!!!! (also dojun deserves the entire fucking world and i HOPE hanyool got his ass in therapy after that whole fiasco)
