Dear Gene
storyline: trevor edwards is a lawyer who picks up a homeless young man named gene and gets him off the streets by offering him a job as a live-in housekeeper. gene is a former amish who chose not to return to his village, and instead wants to explore the world. trevor supports him, and loves him throughout the process. review: this is the loveliest thing i’ve read in such a long time omg the characters, the dynamics, the ART………… i love it so much
Redeem: Only One Forever
storyline: hangyeol loses his lover, taehyuk, in a car accident. in the middle of the street, hangyeol passes out and wakes up in his own body 10 years earlier, aged 11. he then makes it his mission to save taehyuk, currently a 28 year old vet who has no clue what the kid's deal is, all while figuring his way around his own brother's obsessive behavior. review: honestly? what a fucking great surprise. this concept had a strong chance of being developed into something weird and problematic, but execution was super well done. even the addition of a future-insighted taehyuk allowed for his character to see hangyeol as more than just the kid before him, so the age gap wasn't such a striking aspect... and even so, taehyuk's resolution of waiting a decade for the simple chance of his lover finding him and falling for him again... i love love!!!! (also dojun deserves the entire fucking world and i HOPE hanyool got his ass in therapy after that whole fiasco)
Love for Sale
storyline: namwoo is a broke college student who catches the eye of si-eon, the ceo of a publishing company. a relationship blooms between them, but while namwoo dives headfirst into the feeling of love and his vulnerability, si-eon uses his money as a shield in order to keep namwoo happy without having to give himself away. slowly but surely, his walls are broken down… review: this was so good, the way the characters’ motives and thoughts reflect their upbringing, and the way it affects the relationship… amazing (and this was also the cutest freaking thing)
Yamada To Shounen
storyline: yamada (26) finds a highschool boy, chihiro, lying drunk and asleep in a park at night, and decides to take him home so he can sober up. chihiro becomes attached, and unexpected feelings happen review: age gap with barely legal guys (or even minors, in this case it wasn’t specified) is always a bit icky for me
Form of Sympathy
storyline: a spinoff of “for your love” where kwon yuri, yohan’s best friend, is a college student who is “in love” with his adopted sister (distant cousin whose parents died and was taken in by yuri’s family), and meets his former teacher, lee seonwoo, at his sister’s wedding. mr. lee is a fucking wreck, drunk and sobbing, and yuri realized he was pining over the groom as mr. lee made a move on yuri. the story unfolds very messily from then on. review: i LOVED yuri’s character in “for your love” but i’m glad we delved a little deeper into it in this story. i really believe yuri has bpd from the way he behaves, his upbringing, and every thought he has. glad his relationship with seonwoo seems to work but i wish their dynamic didn’t seem so volatile. also yohan and yuri’s friendship still makes me cackle every time, i love them so much.
Love Me Doctor!
storyline: kang hyuk can’t get it up when he tries to have sex with his girlfriend, so he visits a doctor, hang yoosong, who tries to help him fix it. review: very cute, i only didn’t like the part where we find out dr han was hyuk’s tutor he was in love with back in the day and hyuk didn’t recognize him, that seemed very far-fetched
