Tada Omoukoto wa
When Hiroya, the one-sided love of Yuuki's life, finally sleeps with him after ten years of pining (and a lot of alcohol), he calls it a mistake and vows to make things right. But while they're closer in the aftermath than ever before, Yuuki is miserable knowing he's not what Hiroya wants. OR IS HE? Also features the delightful "I thought we've been going out all this time" trope. Also also features a kickass married couple who counsels them.
Kocchi Muite, Ai
I didn't give up on this, so I'll give it a three, and I like that the main character was able to remain friends with the person he's been in love with for years, even though he's found someone else.
Toshishita Kareshi ni Hirowaremashita
When the love of his life marries, Shouta gets drunk and ends up outside a restaurant that shares his love's last name. He's taken home by the owner's high school aged son, Maru, who takes a liking to him.
Gravity Eyes
Surprisingly touching. Two men licking the wounds from past relationships come together when a professor agrees to adopt two kittens on the pretense that the student who had rescued them continue to care for them. Neither forgets the past, but they are able to move beyond. Sept 2020 ETA: Interesting twist on professor/student. Although they're from the same university, they're in different departments. Also their relationship is pretty open. The only reason I dock this a star is for the pacing. It moves a little quickly. This could've been twice as long to show Kiriya opening up more gradually, especially when his hand is broken. It strays to cliche at times: the apartment burning down to force living together, the jealous wife chasing out the MC for crushing on her husband, dual tragic backstories, kittens. But it's tossed together in a way that's satisfying.
Hitori to Hitori no 3650nichi
Two in one: Ten years after a rejected confession, two men get another chance...but the one feels so much guilt, he resorts to abusive sex as atonement. After college, a guy moves to the country and falls for the only person his age. The art in this is GORGEOUS. Also the author is an eruri shipper :-D
Kimi ni Koisuru Hazu ga Nai
A man who adores shoujo manga finally experiences love.
Hi no Ataranai Basho
this one hits close to home! A man with an allergy to the sun returns to the island where he grew up, and the boy he was in love with, to help with their dwindling population that threatens year-round occupancy. this is about tourism, and the author must know something about tourism because it was too spot on! there are some murky feelings early on and a dubcon moment.
Renai Kyoutei Nukegake Nashi!
