Hero Heel
A young actor becomes fascinated with his gay co-star and develops a crush, only to coerce him into sex in order to get past it. He's thoroughly rejected afterwards. He dates someone else to try and move past it, but his feelings don't catch up to his lover's, and he's left wishing he could get over his co-star -- although it's impossible when the co-star begins to express an interest in him. I honestly wish our hero had come to love Katagiri. One scene aside, their relationship was above board, loving, and supportive. I had a suspicion the co-stars would end up together, and I was right. I don't mind the ending - you love who you love - but I think he would've been happier with Katagiri in the long run. This story deals the pain of one-sided love and the graciousness of the one in love to wish happiness on the other person. I hope the boyfriend finds someone to love him back.
Aisaretaino
The morning after his high school reunions, Izami wakes up in bed with a former classmate who is now a best-selling novelist.
Mitsugetsukei Honey
Yoru To Asa No Uta
During a night of shared sex with groupies, Asa ends up having sex with his band mate Yoru by mistake. Yoru, who has loved him for years, is happy about it and continues to allow Asa to use him for sex, even though Asa is cruel and degrades him. But after Asa harms a fan, he's brutally assaulted and raped, and it changes the way he views Yoru, who takes care of him in the aftermath of his trauma. This is fantastic but contains a brutal and upsetting rape scene that is explicitly depicted and frightening. This is like cotton candy fluffy by Harada standards.
Yatamomo
This was fluff by Harada standards. Momo sells himself to pay his bills and is taken advantage of by the three people currently caring for him when he meets Yata, who offers to let him stay for one night. They end up in a convenient relationship that eventually grows close and serious, and eventually lifelong. This is a love story, a story about getting past your past, and not being caught up in blaming people for your present state. Now that it's over I want to cry. I really loved it.
Fusoku no Renjou
Junjou's spinoff. When Miyata's lover leaves him because of lingering feelings for his ex (Keisuke from Junjou), he goes drinking in Nichoume and encounters a work acquaintance, Ikuya, who insists on seeing him home. Miyata settles for a cab and intends to apologize at their next encounter, surprised when Ikuya asks to date instead - using work as leverage. This is primarily a love story but also deals with Miyata's biphobia and issues bottoming for a partner because of past trauma. Caution for one dubcon scene. The ending was perfect.
Junjou
A man is reunited with the guy he'd been in love with in high school, and they fall into a physical relationship that grows serious, but they have to navigate jealousy and family issues. There's a movie version that I don't care for, but I really enjoyed this manga. I've read it three times - and the third time was probably my favorite. Kurata is a jackass when we first meet him. He's never understood the feelings he has for Keisuke, going back to high school, and sleeps with him to confirm that Keisuke had once liked him. He continues to use him for sex - often forcing it - but eventually falls in love and experiences a pretty significant personality change. He's sweet by the end, and Keisuke calls him out on his terrible behavior and breaks up with him for a while - I liked that. Includes lots of cute oneshots about their life after moving in together.
YOWAMUSHI DANSHI, RENAI HAJIMEMASU
When Kawachi discovers that the senpai he's admired since middle school isn't as kind and considerate as he thought, he panics and blackmails him with sex - and has to live with the guilt. To atone, he apologizes and acts the part of doting boyfriend, walking senpai to and from school, carrying his bag, taking him out for pancakes. And while senpai is confused by Kawachi's sudden chivalrous behavior, he accepts it and the feelings that come with it. Features my favorite moment: "I AM his boyfriend."
