Ichigo no Yume - Shimatsuya Risuke no Kaii Jikenchou
Supernatural hunter Ristuke takes up with a samurai and they gradually fall in love across in a series of one-chapter stories centered around traditional Japanese lore.
Stellarium
Chapters 1-4 & 5.5: In a laboratory that creates stars, a man mourning the loss of his lover turns to alcohol to cope and accidentally creates a humanoid star. One of his coworkers finds love with another. Chapter 5 - THE BEST CHAPTER! Two humanoid plants who are dependent on one another to survive. When one is rejected by the other, he goes into a state of temporary death only to awaken six years later.
Beast In The Tower
A poor young boy is thrown out of a tavern and rescued from an oncoming carriage by a nobleman who immediately takes him under his wing. But every month, Edgar disappears for three nights and leaves Lukka to feed a mysterious black beast in the tower that has eyes just like Edgar's. You can see where this is going. This story has the added bonus of a POINT, which is that you must be willing to accept all parts of yourself - even the parts you hate or that shame you - if you want to be accepted by other people, and if you want to find love and happiness. ###
Mahoroba Days
A descendant in a revered line of deer is in love with a human who has served his family since childhood. This is a little confusing at times, and the MC is a tsundere to the nth degree, but it has sweet moments. Head's up for a guy coming onto his adopted brother.
Itoshi No Momonga Kareshi
A boy with a love for flying squirrels hits the jackpot when his crush and his pet squirrel are merged into one being thanks to a clumsy shrine worker.
Fukigen Kareshi No Saraikata
The continuing adventures of werecats. We once again meet the older brother and his assistant, who are sleeping together but not *sleeping* together, so the relationship is experiencing turbulence. Lucky for these two, a wedding provides the opportunity for much-needed alone time. Unlike the other books in this series, this fell flat emotionally. Maybe it was my mood or what I'd read before this, but I couldn't wait for this to end.
Suzume Favorite
A boy with no friends saves and befriends a bird called Suzume that continues to visit him as he grows up. Then one day, a mysterious boy appears who shares some of Suzume's features - even his name. Could he be Suzume in human form? (Yes, yes, he could.)
Gekka no Soutou
While trying to return a lost dog to its owner, Aoi - a single man raising a deceased friend's four-year-old son - stumbles upon a mysterious shrine and discovers its resident, a beautiful man who tells him not to return. Unable to get him out of his head, Aoi disobeys, incurring the wrath of the man's twin, Yuuma, who seemingly befriends him only to violate him out of jealousy. A somewhat confusing supernatural tale involving dog gods, on-page rape (which is sadly brushed aside), and a love triangle. Beautiful art but I wish this had been better developed.
Hachi (KUJU Siam)
After running away from his high school boyfriend Kuma and close friend Hanabi because of mixed-up feelings for both of them, Hatchi works in a restaurant to fulfill his dream of being a chef. But when Kuma and Hanabi find him, Hatchi has to face his guilt over falling in love with Hanabi. My only complaint is that I honestly wish this would've ended as a poly relationship. I really think these three would've made it work, and they so obviously loved one another. Features on-page sex between a human and a human in animal form. I actually thought it was nice that the human partner would accept their partner's animal form, but...head's up if that's not your thing.
