Two boys who had been in love when they were younger are reunited now that they are adults. One is a teacher, and the other a parent to one of his students. Stars are the prominent metaphor. ETA 2021: This is still pretty, and I still enjoyed it, but it’s either something with this author or some thing about their writing that is lost in translation. Their works miss the emotional mark for me. A lot of introspection and not a lot of forward momentum.

Five stars for the main story about two childhood friends who reunite and live together for two months when one has to look after his sister's five-year-old son. The second story is skippable.

After his parents and older sister are killed in a car accident, Yuuichi agrees to raise his nephew Ayamu. They move to a new town and on the first day there meet Ryou, the owner of a local restaurant who wins them both over with his food. But Ryou struggles with pain from a cruel childhood and after falling for Yuuichi, tries to distance himself for Ayamu's sake.

A year out from his divorce, Uematsu, a 40-something overworked businessman, frequents a gyudon restaurant and is befriended by the young waiter, Asahikawa. Something about him puts Uematsu at ease, so despite their age difference and his uncertain feelings, he accepts when Asahikawa asks him out. But when his estranged daughter comes back into his life, their blossoming relationship is put on hold. Luckily, these two aren't like the typical BL couple and work things out just fine. BUTTERFLIES. This was PG and I blushed.

An omega who works as a marriage counselor is determined to find a partner for his newest client. Oh, and guess what: once upon a time they had sex and have a child together.
