Sensei, Mou Dame Desu
After he's transferred to the BL department, a hopeful editor scours doujinshi looking for the next rising star. He finds it in a guy who draws DJs for extra money and agrees to be his reference model. But the lines blur when they take pictures together, and then start sleeping together, and then start living together... Honestly, the main couple in this did nothing for me, even though this is the author behind my favorite confession scene. The side couple (the mangaka's otaku brother & his lover, from an older story by the same author) had a lot more emotional resonance. The manga suffers from the same plot issue as the manga-within-the-manga: the love story falls flat. The relationship was one-sided until the end, and while it does end with them together, I never felt they were in love.
Nights Before Night
Years after the tragic death of his lover, Haru from MODS gets a happy ending with his lover’s younger brother.
Dear Gene
The story of Danny’s older brother Gene after he left the Amish community and found love with a lawyer in New York City. In the present timeline, Gene does not appear to be living with him any longer, and I worry this may be a sad ending. Waiting on the second volume. Because this takes place in the 1970s in the United States, it contains period-typical homophobia. It also features 2020s United States grocery pricing.
Koi ga Michitara
The sequel to Koi ga Ochitara. established relationship, domestic bliss! A little bit of communication issues but everything works out well. I would love to know about the other couple.
Akari to Kare wa Nayamashii
Akari finds love with a real estate agent ten years his senior.
