A boy from a wealthy family goes to work in a restaurant in order to learn how the rest of the world lives, and while there meets another boy who is very poor. He eventually decides to live on his own and become independent, and after some initial confusion over motives, he and the other boy fall in love. His butler has the second story, about his love affair with the restaurant's manager.

A poor family finds a boy outside of their house and takes him in...only to find he's extremely well off, and his family isn't thrilled about their association.
