Soko Ni Suwaru Na
A man is cruelly dumped by his lover who moves out while he's on vacation. He learns to trust again when he befriends his new roommate. Childhood friends who have pretended to date since childhood to spare one from bullying because of his sexuality. I almost cried.
Ki ga Au to Iu Koto wa
A store clerk falls for a stranger who comes to buy bento every day, and realizes he's able to see the ghost of the man's lover who died ten years earlier. A beautiful story but warning for non-consent in one scene (while the ghost is possessing someone). It is not, however, played up as something positive. Tearjerker for sure. I cried a lot. The second story is about a man recently divorced, whose best friend has been openly in love with him since high school and has always begged for one night together. Not satisfying emotionally, exactly, since our protagonist is still struggling with his feelings, but it ends hopefully.
Yachin Hanbun No Ibasho Desu
A collection of stories about cheating. The first is about a man who leaves his cheating boyfriend and goes to live with a coworker. They have a slow-burn love story. The second is a prequel to the story with the single dad and the serial playboy! After he cheats on his lover, that lover is propositioned by his sister's 19yo stepson (his sister has recently married a man with a son). We see a glimpse of the main couple from the single-dad story the name of which escapes me. The final story is frustrating. A man whose lover constantly cheats on him is once again disappointed, but ultimately stays in the relationship, believing this time will be different. Frustrating but realistic. I probably would've done the same.
Hokenshitsu Made Nan M?
The first two chapters are about a horrible person who has no genuine remorse for how he treated a former classmate and now co-worker. I'd honestly skip them. Chapter 5 is a prequel to Like That. The last chapter is sweet, a couple five years into their relationship visits one of their family's homes.
Yume no Kuni in My Darling
The one with the man who has been in love with his spacey novelist friend since high school
Yuuhi ni Fureru Sono Mae ni
Read this for the first story. The other two are quite short, but the first - two roommates falling in love across seasons - is lovely.
Ookami No Ketsuzoku
Two stories: A boy who had been in love with his father's lover's son growing up has to let him go. But he is surprised when his love's little brother returns from overseas and pursues him. A man who had been in love with a child actress as a young boy still wonders what happened to her - and finds out when he meets a tall, half-Japanese man.
Kozure Ookami (INOUE Satou)
Freshly divorced single dads find themselves as neighbors and quickly become friends, but when attraction comes into the mix, they break things off. A couple of years later, when one is divorced for the second time, they meet again by accident and give in. Confusing at times, but better on re-read if you take it slow. There's a second story about a businessman falling in love with a club manager, and one about people who cheat to make each other jealous. The ex wife in the main story made me laugh, ahahaha. The guys stay together to become grandpas, which was sweet. And apparently two of their kids are sleeping together. Since they lived together since infancy as brothers, that probably needs a content warning for implied incest.
