Sugar My Baby
Employees from competing restaurants end up dating; sex friends fall in love. Cute but something is missing. I didn't feel an emotional connection to anyone. Pleasant and pretty art, but no butterflies.
Love Mode
Art evolution! This begins old-school and evolves into the artist's current style. Two main stories: A boy mistaken for a call boy sleeps with the man who picks him up, Takamiya, and eventually they end up in a relationship that feels one-sided until the end. The better story: Aoe, Takamiya's friend and the owner of the call boy club, falls for Naoya, a high schooler he takes in. Their love story was really sweet all the way to the end. Also included: Aoe's brother Kiichi's love story with his bodyguard/long-time companion. Also also included: Takamiya's past with his uncle, who fell for Aoe before he died. This was a ride.
Warudakumi Ni Mo Hana Wa Furu
The continuation of the story between the guy obsessed with money and the guy who got rich so they could be together. Also features a two-chapter story about a man (Takao's best friend who pretended to cheat with his wife in the other story) who falls for a kid he meets on the train. I would've *loved* that to be the main story and 10x the length. Really good potential for character development. Too rushed for 2 chapters but still a nice ending.
Kiss wa Dolce no Ato de
Mizuki, the strict manager of a high-end Italian restaurant, is rattled by newcomer Takeru who, despite first appearances, does a hell of a job as a waiter. Obviously, they'll fall in love. Also features an established relationship between their coworkers, IIRC.
Ijiwaru Shinai de Dakishimete
Past!me said, "The art is pretty, but there wasn't much relationship development or emotional impact." Maybe she'd had a bad day. On re-read, this was really cute. The main story: Friends of 15 years get together when one is threatened with an arranged marriage, leading the other to confess. Opens with the side story of the cute shop attendant being eyed up by the MC. There’s a third story that’s pretty bland but fine. The main couple shows up again in the epilogue.
Shinshi to Norainu
A series of stories. The best is probably the young heir facing an arranged marriage who decides to be honest with himself for one night and sleeps with a man he met in a bar. These all have lovely art, but the pacing is a little fast, so they're not really satisfying as love stories. They might be nice for a coffee break!
Dou-imo Nara Nai
Two in one: Hua Cheng is a spoiled high school student whose dad is the school director. He falls for Xie Lian, the infirmary nurse - the only person who's willing to stand up to him. Those weren't their names, but the silly boy was so overprotective, it had some Hualian vibes. There was even a necklace. The second story is the director nearly losing his secretary due to his homophobia. They end up dating. Had none of the emotional punch of the same story by this author with Reiji and Eiichiro. I would've loved the first story developed over a few volumes, and not coming to any romantic conclusion until the minor was of age. Ah well, this is a fantasy world.
Mizu No Haru
This is absolutely sweet and contains both the story of the two boys, and also Sumi's father and the second love of his life. No heartbreak! Just happy things.
