Two men who have been in love since childhood choose each other over family and obligation in early 1900s Japan.

Supernatural hunter Ristuke takes up with a samurai and they gradually fall in love across in a series of one-chapter stories centered around traditional Japanese lore.

Azuma, the teenaged son of a deceased kimono maker, falls for the mysterious Matsuoka--a man who insists on caring for Azuma and his sickly mother, saying he is only paying back a kindness. As he falls in love, Azuma grows jealous of his father's memory, believing that he was Matsuoka's savior, but his eyes are opened in more than one way when he visits Matsuoka in Tokyo. Original notes: A beautiful story. Matsuoka seeks to repay the kindness of the only person who ever treated him as human, the young son of a former employer. This author is spectacular.

I don't go here, but everyone was super beautiful. The couple called each other uncle/nephew, but I'm not sure if they are actually related or if it's nicknames to indicate an age gap (like how people call strangers ojisan in Japan in manga sometimes?).

Three stars for the second story only, a businessman and a guy in a book store. In the others, the pace moved too quickly to get invested.

A vampire adopts a human child to save him from (I think) prostitution. It was hinted that the child would become a vampire, but in the final chapter he seems to be human still, living a normal life with friends. Some commenters worried the girl was being invited over as food, but I think she's just a friend and that the vampire considers the house joint property.

A country doctor finds a man with his throat slit, bleeding out in the snow, and takes him home. And then they fall super in love and have a ton of sex! And adopt a kid for a while, meet old friends, make some great food, and grow old. No death, but we see them together many years later. I cried. One character is a former prostitute. He'll use this to his advantage at one point (he sleeps with someone to get something even though he's in a relationship), and we also see flashbacks of him with his former lover. He and his current partner are very happy.
