Bambi to Dhole
So, this started off bland for me but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. So many feels in this! It's about a girl who pretends to live a happy, ideal life when she really feels anything but. One day a new boy transfers into her class and out of obligation she gets close to him only to discover he has a secret side too. They bond over revealing themselves to each other and it's super sweet. Their relationship is a slow-burn type that is wonderful and painful at the same time. I look forward to their happily ever after!
Sayonara Note
Two boys exchange diaries throughout high school, and as high school nears it's end the seme worries constantly about uke. He realizes his worrying and constant need to make him happy are really love but by the time he realizes it he's pushed his friend to date a girl. Time passes and he's in college and he realizes that his friend wasn't telling him everything.
Sayonara Koibito, Mata Kite Tomodachi
Ugh, this is what bothers me the most about omegaverse. So much rape *sigh* This poor Omega with super strong pheromones has been in love with the alpha main character since they were kids and returns to his hometown. Alpha desires him intensely but resists because he wants love, not just a physical connection, not realizing he was his childhood friend. All well in good but there's 3 separate instances of rape and one of them is the alpha doing it as a sort of revenge against another alpha! I really, really disliked that. I'm sure I'll read this to the end because I want a happy ending to this but I will never read this one again.
Back in Time to You
So many feels! This made my heart ache. I really, really, REALLY hope that this ends happily. PLEASE!
Guang Xiang
A sweet romance about two classmates who gradually fall in love but are afraid to tell each other, both afraid they'll be hated. A slow, touching story that was super warm and fuzzy to read. Very nice!
Kimi Wa Petto
This is one of those sloooow burn romances that was so frustrating sometimes I almost stopped reading it but the last several chapters made me glad I stuck with it! Strong independent woman brings home an injured guy she finds in a box outside her apartment. She rationalizes keeping him because he has hair like an old dog she used to have, so she agrees to let him say as long as he acts like an obedient "pet". In reality he's a quirky dancer and loves her and comforts her as she deals with the mean people at work and her conflicted feelings about her boyfriend.
Koi to wa Yobenai
Holy crap, I really didn't expect this kind of story when I started this. This reminded me of Kimi Wa Petto a bit because they both take in strangers injured outside their apartment buildings. This had even more drama than Kimi Wa Petto, which was surprising in and of itself. There was so much self-resentment and heart ache for nearly all the characters. Then the misunderstanding and fear of admitting the truth about their feelings. Like damn.
Romantic Joutou
Ugh. So uke dreams of marrying a fated match alpha and living the easy life. However, in the mean time, he has to deal with a very strong heat that's resistant to drugs. He relies on his beta best friend to get him through it with sex. He's attacked and raped and forcibly bitten by a scumbag alpha and realizes that he loved his beta friend after all and they struggle to be with each other despite him being bitten by someone else. I would've liked this story so much more, but i'm SO SICK of omega constantly getting raped in omegaverse stories.
Gift (ICHINOSE Yuma)
Boxing trainer trains a young man he finds fighting on the street. He allows him to stay in the family dormitories set aside to house serious trainees, but the young man tells him that he's not serious and just needs a place to stay for a few months. He blackmails the trainer for the dormitory and sex in exchange for keeping the fact that the trainer is gay a secret. You find out that the young man is a hollow shell of a person form years of childhood sexual abuse. This is an interesting, unique and arty-feeling manga. I'm kinda shocked I haven't cried yet, tbh.
