i wasn't enjoying this story at first, but at around 20 chapters, everything began to make sense to me, not to mention that the main couple's chemistry just ... fucking skyrocketed. up there in the sky, exponentially. and that was it. that sealed the deal. i'm way too invested now, i can't go back, i need to see our main couple win, and i'm not talking no as an answer. edit: okay so this was completed but i'm not in the mood to finish this rn LAWL

cultivation manhua/manhwa....? i can't tell if this is Chinese or Korean. "Baek" is definitely Korean, but most of the other elements are Chinese. oh well. it's interesting, i'm looking forward for more ^_^ edit: it's Korean! edit: i finally finished it !! it was good, but i don't think it is at the level that i could say it was *great.* it's probably with the pacing. i felt like everything went too fast and most if not all of the conflicts were solved by a deus ex machina. however, i do admit that the emotional parts were handled well, and that the tension, suspense, and build-up were maintained appropriately until the climax. but what i probably loved the most is the main couple (obviously). i will always eat up an “i'd kill for you” x “i'd die for you” couple. and the fact that they ended up travelling around the world together LIKE THAT'S A PEAK ENDING RIGHT THERE also holy shit the art is 10/10

i am absolutely devastated by the fact that this has BREATHTAKING art, and that the characters ARE THE CUTEST THING TO HAVE EVER EXISTED ON THIS PLANET. but i can smell the angst from a mile away, so i'm preparing my heart as early as now. edit: it finally updated God is real

OH MY FUXKINGBG GOOOOODODD D D WHWOOEWWWWWW THIS IS THE MSOT ADORABLE SHITE I'VE EVER READ IN MY ENTIRE FUCKING LIFE punches the wall OKAY folks here we have another reincarnation manhwa and you know how reincarnation manhwas are . they are Complex and Agonizing and straight up Destructive like .I'll probably kms if they dont get the happiness they deserve . punches a second hole in the wall FUCK THE GODS IN HEAVEN BTW IT'S ALWAYS THEIR FAULT LEAVE MY BOYS ALOOOOONENEEE edit: ourkaayyy i seemed to have catched up! aaaanddd.... hm, the ending is a bit anti-climatic. i wished there was more struggling with regards to the two-halves-becoming-whole thing. wait, no. actually, the plot is decent enough; it was very promising in the beginning, it just fell overtly tepid in its execution in the latter chapters. finishing it got me saying, "That's it?". still, i sense the potential. i know it's there, it just didn't give me the chance to experience it.

Ch77 Can't believe Yuri went from being my most hated character to my most favorite character of this manhwa HAHAHAHAHAHAHA he's still a major red flag, though, in the fact that he's possessive. Great character develooment for both sides!!!!! Just... why did they have to take 40-50 chapters to make progress..... it's was all so heavy to take in that i could not physically binge read this. nonetheless, i LOVE love love the portrayal of mentall illness because it was REALISTIC. Actually, almost everything about this manhwa is realistic, like the characters' personalities???? They're so distinct from one another and so full of depth they're almost human. a living, breathing human. This alone sets Form of Sympathy apart from other manhwas. The art. GOSH. the art makes me feel like i'm watching a film rather than reading a comic. I'm totally in love. edit: i finally picked this up again after ... what, almost two years? i had to read again from the start because i forgot everything already. but whew boy. this was just as BEAUTIFUL as i remembered. my sentiments didn't change much. the art is a cinematic masterpiece. this author is at the top of their league in terms of paneling, anatomy, and composition. i'd love to go more in depth about the art but i'll make a separate review once i put this on my other list. anyway, the writing is SO GOOD. the pacing and the flow of the story is as smooth as butter. the dialogues sounded natural. all the characters have depth. the romance is different, and i mean that in a good way. their relationship is not the typical one you'd expect from a bl, and i think it was fairly unique. it was two individuals whose broken pieces fit into each other quite well—not totally satisfying, but ultimately it makes the most sense for them to be together. i just felt the fluff lacking, is all. but their love is undeniable.
