I read all the way to 39 chapters (most recent for now) hoping to see MC either kills the ML or kills himself. The entire story is just a pain to read because of how abusive, manipulative and controlling the ML is. The ML imprisoned the MC, shattered his legs when he didn't love him and raped him. Then when MC didn't give him consensual sex, he fed him drug over and over until MC became so addicted he was throwing himself onto any men he sees trying to find pleasure. Then the ML will kill these people and anyone who witnessed and said how it was a "mistake" and how he's "sorry". Then he locks MC up and killed all the birds because MC loves birds to show how MC will never escape him. The ML continued to torture MC just to get his love until MC literally went made and destroyed the palace to commit suicide. MC gets reborn, ML gets reborn, the brother who raped MC got reborn, the Emperor's servant that serves him got reborn and it's just repeating everything. The rapist brother is in love with MC and wanna make things right. The rapist ML is in love with MC and wanna make things right. Pretty sure the story will paint the rapist brother to be bad, but he's 100% better than the rapist ML because at the very least he only raped him and caused his imprisonment at home. On the other hand, the ML did a bunch of things way worst. Throughout the story, the MC just wanted to die but can't because of ML stopping him each time and reminding him how he will never escape. In this second life after getting his memory back, ML wanted to make things right and tried to redeem himself, but really there's no way he can redeem anything. If he really wanted to redeem himself, he can either kill himself, kill MC because he will never ever let MC be free. And MC despite everything is still weak to ML. He hated the ML in their last life, but just because ML is trying in this life, he's starting to blush and all that. Classic stockholm syndrome.

The ML is a piece of crap. I don't care if they do the cliche "Oh the ML did it all for the MC in the past life, it was for his own good" crap. The ML is manipulative and the MC is an idiot to not see it and falls for him again despite gaining another chance in life. Seriously, f*** the ML. It's like the Abandoned Empress all over again. The only good part was the beginning where the MC behaves in a very resolved and cold way towards the ML. That's the whole reason I even gave this two stars, plus the artwork. Then MC's resolve crumbled after being manipulated into bearing his child and spending time with the ML. MC just kept thinking "he's different than the past" and falls in love with the guy that ruined his life and made his life a living hell. P.S. I read all the current chapters (44) and I can't like the ML. He acts cute and all that stuff, but it's just disgusting given what he did in the past. ML is basically the "merciless and heartless demon that will murder everyone but MC" type. Oh, and the ML didn't change, he just hides his nature after seeing the MC so disgusted with him in the beginning. He needed a way to keep MC next to him.

Abusive and controlling ML who wouldn't take no for an answer. MC escapes for whatever reason in the past which no doubt would be for the ML's sake, ML can't understand why MC left him and hunts MC down, imprison him and chains him up so he won't get away again and rapes him.

I don't get how in the world this is so popular. It's a super toxic relationship with a super controlling and perverted ML and Stockholm syndrome.

ML used blackmail and manipulation to worm his way into the MC's heart. He broke up MC and her ex (the second ML) by forcing the second ML to choose between his DYING SISTER and the woman he loves. Second ML has no choice but to choose his dying sister (cuz you know...his sister's dying?) and thus ML successfully got MC in the palm of his hand, all because she was such a kind and naive (aka stupid) girl that showed kindness to him. Oh and in case anyone wonders, the whole reason MC and her ex didn't work out is because of money. Nothing else. Just because ex was not rich and powerful enough like the actual ML who could easily provide for the woman he found interesting. Being a good guy from beginning to end means nothing if you got no golden nugget. Because he is not rich enough and got in the way of MC and ML's love, the way of the world (author) decided to give him the bad ending all good people like him deserve. Money is justice in this world. As long as you got money, you get the girl even if you are a piece of non-recyclable trash that will only poison the air after being burned.

In terms of horror and psychological genre, this is really well done. To be honest I don't want to deduct any stars because, in terms of horror, psychological and abuse, this is really well done. But I hope people see my comment and know how messed up it is for anyone to actually ship the murderer and kidnapped/abused victim together. There is no romance in this so I can't see how anyone could view this as romantic.
