lacks empathy suicidal/homicidal former sunbae woon x trying his best to survive/save the world hayeon -ever since the mist virus outbreak hayeon and his friend have been fighting zombies and trying to get to the capital as the outer districts have basically been forsaken; mc and his friend both went to a prestigious uni d/t them being geniuses but were class b citizens -they eventually get there (after saving some others) and the crew gets captured while mc gets taken by woon, his old sunbae who has a terrible manipulative personality -backstory: they were sunbae/hoobae in uni until mc researched the first virus outbreak and found a cure; turns out ml actually survived the original outbreak b/c his mom was able to lock him away while the rest were culled; he cuts off mc for not obeying him and then the second/current outbreak happened -mc wants to make a cure and save everyone while ml has a grudge against his father, the pm, and wants all of the class a citizens to die (incl himself, as he infected himself to study the virus) -tons of political drama with not much romantic plot other than ml somehow doing a personality 180 and becoming super possessive of mc -mc's friend heads the rebels/revolutionaries and works w/ ml to overthrow the gov, mc makes a cure for the mist and works on a cure for the virus -happy end

lan wangji x wei wuxian -gosh there was so much that happened that i can't even begin to do a summary -reincounter, not exactly childhood friends but kind of?, lan zhan has always had a soft spot for wei ying

slightly obsessive/manipulative older brother jigeon x sweet student w/ a one-sided crush on his childhood friend wooseo x the oblivious childhood friend jiseok -setting: rings can spontaneously spawn on people's fingers connecting them to a partner once they hit adulthood; they are unable to sleep w/o their ring partner once this happens -mc has had an unrequited crush on jiseok for years and has resolved to just be w/ jiseok as a friend -he comes into contact w/ ml, jiseok's older brother jigeon, who has been avoiding him for several years after being their tutor and getting pretty close to mc -they manifest rings w/ each other, and decide to sleep together and keep it a secret from jiseok; mc moves in w/ them -(turns out jigeon has actually loved wooseo for years but kept it hidden when he realized wooseo's crush on jiseok) -thus starts a master plan of secret manipulation by jigeon to win mc's heart over his brother (it's mostly benign tbh, but does involve some acting and some maneuvering and slight stalking) -it's v sweet to see ml so desperately in love w/ mc, who is understandably confused and hesitant -jiseok slowly realizes smth's up and panic confesses to mc b/c he doesn't want to lose him and is a bit possessive himself (this was also orchestrated by ml to make it clumsy lol) -there's a "connector" who can see and change rings that they all end up consulting with for different ends -ultimately ml confessess all of his manipulations to mc, who after freaking out a bit accepts him for who he is, thus completing their ring form -happy end

greed demon who wants to be human so he can feel love yato x celestial being/ unwanted princess soru x ruthless general jahyun -jahyun hates the emperor and wants to overthrow him; he went to war for a yr as a deal to marry princess garam, but the emperor embarrasses him by betrothing him to princess soru instead -soru, aka the ghost princess, is the child of a concubine's affair and was put through immense suffering d/t demons wanting to consume her (if one eats her it can become a human) and thus killing everyone around her for sport -jahyun is livid and treats soru badly out of anger; however, jahyun has an ability that banishes all demons so soru begs him to stay together so the demons stop killing everyone around her -soru's blood can heal all ailments so she invited jahyun to use her; he does for political gain, except he neglects her completely so once the servants catch on they completely carve soru up until she's near death -jahyun constantly feels guilty for how he treats and uses soru, but he keeps using her despite himself b/c he's so desperate to take down the emperor -yato, the greed demon who soru befriended while captive as a child, is obsessed with soru and wants to eat 1000 human hearts in order to become human so he can feel love for soru (he also took away her celestial sight out of fear she would hate him like the other humans do upon seeing his hideous form) -yato goes around killing the humans who treat soru badly (which is p much everyone); the emperor spreads rumors that the killings are because of soru in order to destabalize jahyun -eventually the emperor invites jahyun to the palace as a trap to kill him; soru senses something's off and tries to get jahyun to stay, but jahyun freaks out and rebuffs her a final time; soru goes after him but is beaten by an angry mob who believes the killings are related to her curse -yato saves soru, and soru begs him to save jahyun; yato does so by killing the emperor as he's about to kill jahyun; he takes soru to a place to try to heal her but is found by the exorcists and trapped, but escapes -soru wakes up but is met by biryung, jahyun's scheming attendant who has been manipulating jahyun to achieve their shared goals (with jahyun's best interests in mind tbh), and biryung convinced her to leave the palace since the people hate her so much -soru requests to follow after yato and convince him not to murder any more humans -they let her, and she does -ffw'd, jahyun is emperor but is miserable; he has dreams of all the things he could have done differently w/ soru had he not been so obsessed w/ taking down the emperor (this part is soooo angsty and sweet ㅠㅠ best part of the series) -soru lives w/ yato, but keeps getting sick in the demon valley; despite this and yato's inability to love, they try to live happily together
