It's been years since I've read this but I still remember most of it like it was yesterday. It's a sobering experience to read as a preteen. Definitely one of my all-time favourites...

I don't deny the fact that Akumetsu's very existence is morally reprehensible. But seeing the villains being spat out by even nastier villains was rather cathartic. So much so that it's a tragedy, in more ways than one.

An interestingly unique idea that took a life of its own. A bloody good read that had a mediocre second half, much to my dismay.

[ DROPPED ] So, to read or not to read? To give you a clearer picture, this is an excerpt from a review by deadoptimist: ❦︎ "In the end Raise wa Tanin ga Ii made me sad. I felt bad that this kind of story is supposed to be attractive.... "Despite the official demographic Raise wa Tanin ga Ii isn’t a work for adults, for them it would be too inconsistent in writing and stupidly problematic in premise. The content in it is not suitable for minors either, and I can’t recommend in good faith a manga that whitewashes crime, illness and criminal stupidity to vulnerable readers. Girls have enough of that in fanfiction as it is. But if you’re conscious about the pitfalls, the muscly backs with dragons on them are nice to look at and the handsome psychopath can give you those pleasant goosebumps you used to feel in Dexter. The art feels fresh too. I have mixed feelings, leaning on no, but then I am saving pages for pics… It's the middleground. And it means a 5/10 on my scale."

Be sure to READ CHAPTERS 1 TO 3 ON ASURA SCANS, as the chapters uploaded here are MTL'd and with disorderly panels. The MTLs merely serve to confuse and misses certain crucial details that sets up the tone for the rest of the story. I urge you to read the first three chapters at asura... 【DROPPED】 this was branching out into directions I care nothing for.

Given that this was by the same author as Sakamoto desu ga, I expected some level of absurdity. It didn't let me down. And somehow turned darker with each chapter release...

❦︎105 Here we see two vastly different worlds: the Earth and a world where gods, beastmen and dragons are no mere figments of imagination. This manga is a standout amongst isekai-like stories given its mature depiction of a war between two worlds and its tendency to not shy away from gruesome details of warfare and politics. Expect an array of unique individuals where majority are either soldiers, knights and or warriors. The blend of characters give this novel adaptation a saucy, comical side despite the dark undertones. Unputdownable! An additional star for the bonus features on the wolfmen... Banzaii for fluff!! ﴾`ᗜ`﴿ ︎ NOTE: As always, take everything (yes, EVERY thing) with a grain of salt...
