The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion
If we are to talk purely about entertainment value, I'd say that this webtoon's supporting cast carried the story. Reading the grievances of the subordinates who has to serve eccentric, as well as crazy, bosses is always a comical read. Naomi (the King's aide) with her snarky retorts; Wade, the long-suffering Head Priest; and the knights of the Duke... Then there's the ever adorable Adam, the deranged priestess and a certain white-haired high priest who insists on being called "grandpa". That's not to say the leads are bland, as they quite decent. If the leads gave the story life, then it is undoubtedly the supporting characters that brought color to the series. Now if only it was memorable...
Watashi no Maou-sama
Was that two pages? Or was it a single page? I blinked and it was over.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles
❦︎115 Totally sidesplitting!! Mashle is now my newest favourite character.
Aka Chan To Boku
An award-winning series made into a 35-episode anime in 1996... I'll miss this... The diverse assortment of characters truly made me love this series. From the adorable Enoki siblings, the doting dad, Gon who was seemingly born with a perpetual frown, the unreadable Fujii, the easygoing elderly couple, to the unreliable neighbor Seichi.... even the kindergarten director made this manga an unforgettable experience. I'll be back to reread this before long...
Sangatsu wa Ore-sama ni narimasu
...aaaannndd it ended. Erm, that wasn't THE conclusion to the story right? Too bad, the leads were utterly likeable.
Detroit Metal City
Giddy with dreams, Negishi Souichi moves to Tokyo wanting to join a chic pop band and write songs about life and romance. Five years later, he is now a vocalist for the tremendously popular death metal band Detroit Metal City. As he continues to yearn for world peace and Kahimi Karie's music, D.M.C's poster boy will have to go on writing songs about hell, chaos and dismemberment. Read on as he hilariously tries to deal with crazed fans and situations far too much for his timid heart to handle. ❦︎ NOTE: Mentions (or more specifically, questionable songs) of parricide, rape and various topics that may be unsettling for some readers. But if you're one to roll with everything, you'll easily find this exceptionally droll...
Kuroneko Osananajimi ga Nigashite Kurenai
Cool Doji Danshi
The lives of four cool though clumsy ikemens: one is an absent-minded (yet professionally efficient) office worker; another is a stoic highschooler knee-deep into acting tough; an unassuming guy who gets embarrassed after the awkward moment has since passed; and yet another who simply laughs off his clumsiness. A delightful manga to while away the time. ◆ [ 30.5 ]
