Checkmate(TAN)

Complete | TAN | 2000 released

Super nice and interesting drama, the plot was amazing even though the first part was hard to get through cause idk why but I cringed so much lol (people agree it was insufferable lmao), some parts were hard to read cause it was pretty angsty with the whole rape scene and abuse. Soohyun was a pretty interesting character with the inferiority complex which I liked that he kept "hidden-ish" until one random chapter where he just let it all out which I was like "what happened to keeping it cool lol" but I liked his obsession it was just a bit cringey at times. Eungsung, great character with how he managed stuff just wtf with the first rape scene babes, but overall I loved how he was dealing with park it felt very humane and real and the emotions were perfect. Park that motherfucker fuck that bitch I hate him and I'm glad he lost the jury case but overall good character as well just how much of a maniac he was, the author portrayed that really well and I liked the mind games/moves both soohyun and park were creating and how they reacted/acted. Shinhae my baby I love that man he's such a brave and strong character, he really made the whole fiasco with park feel more realistic and he was the strongest character, it just brought that humane part to the story so well and made you connect with every one of the pupils. I loved how the story was detective like, I really enjoyed seeing what the next move for every character would be. This story is more angsty than fluffy but I think it fits it well, also the author was right by saying the song "can't pretend - Tom odell" fits this story (I listened to it while reading). The side stories aren't my favorite but it gives you the fluff you needed after they are finally together. Art wise at first it was very depressing, colour-less and just made it feel boring and hard to read (reason as to why I prob stopped reading when I first tried to read this story) but all throughout that changed and we had more colour (not super bright just enough to fit that melancholia, anguish and distress) although the last few chapters changed completly and didn't fit the characters at all although they looked cuter and flufflier it was just when everything started to resolve but the art made it seem just cutesy which threw me off a bit and I didn't love it cause the proportions didn't seem right. Overall 4/5 just because I had to give it like 3 chances to keep reading, I couldn't get past the 3rd chapter at first but I knew people liked this story and it would probably get better and that aged like fine wine 'cause it got really good and interesting instead of just being about an inferiority complex that was kinda cringe. I would definitely read again but not because of the couple, just because of how good the story's plot was and the climax was super super great too I loved how everything just exploded and came to a resolve. Great writing when it came to the drama but not so much the first few chapters. :) Alr second time reading this, uhm guys wth why did it end like that?? am I tripping? I fr think there are some missing chapters or sum cause they never got together?? the side stories literally ended in the randomest way wth?? I feel like I am tripping cause why didn't I say this in my previous review??? anyways... honestly when I saw that I had given this a 4 star instead of 5, uhmmm what the actual hell was I thinking?? I've given worse stories a 5 star why the fuck did I give this a 4?? And yk I understand it was because it was so hard to read it at first but like girl wtf was I thinking, shit deserves a fucking 6/5 fym, like fr this story is so good and altho the first part is always the worse the payoff is huge so like fuck it it deserves everything lol. Still my thoughts on my shayla are the same like my baby is just the absolute cutest I love him sm and I always have such a hard time reading the scenes were shinhae gets hurt like omg my baby who would do that to him. Also MF that park bitch omg the way he got hard listening to soohyun tell him abt eunsung??? uhmmmmmmmmmm guys wtf I actually threw my computer cause like brother I felt so disgusted and violated like what the actual fuck. Anyways hate that son of a bitch, but like idk why this time around I thought the story was way fluffier and just amazing, like even with the change of art (the building in fire) I didn't feel like it was that drastic, it was way more apparent in the side stories tho. But I just love the shit out of this story so much, like at first I read it because of the plot but this time around I focused on the characters more which I loved, plus just seeing them slowly fall in love and eunsung being the cutest and knowing his feelings was just chefs kiss. But srsly wtf I feel like I missed the part where they got together??? Also the side stories were sooooo cute I loved them lol. but fr this story is just so good I would def read this shit a million times even if I have to go thru those first few chapters again lmao. fucking amazing story.

Hello, how should I start this review.. I honestly really really liked the plot, it took my expectations and guesses and turned them at a 180, I really liked that it wasn't what I thought it would be 'cause that made the story even more interesting. I really really liked that this wasn't so much of a bl but of a genuinely engrossing story. It starts with tae min and si won which have such different life styles, tae min, poor, abandoned, forlorn, but wanted to live and get better, and si won a rich, bullied, wanting to die guy. I liked that both characters had different perspectives and experiences of life. Interestingly enough tho I thought si won was gonna survive in tae min's body and be part of the love interest but to my surprise he died which was even more interesting to see the fight between tae min and his identity 'cause imagine knowing u can never go back to ur body and that it died like wow that was a mind fuck but such a cool detail. The bullying I thought was gonna be a more critical part of the story but it wasn't because si won was gay but because he was raped all because of his twin brother's doing and inferiority complex which was an interesting plot line. Joohon was an interesting character as well and I really liked how he inflicted genuine fear into tae min even when he didn't know joohon but his memories of si won made him realize he was a dangerous person, tho again I thought was because he was an abusive ex or sum but it was actually because the twin brother planned si won's rape and johoon was the one who watched and executed the plan tho he didn't personally rape si won. The author took a 180 with si won cause instead of him being bullied and miserable his past self was actually pretty successful and respected, but after the rumors he became miserable (tho I would've liked to see that part of his story but it was just narrated how he was miserable not so much shown) and thats when he wanted to die. Min jiwoon was a very interesting character 'cause he could recognize tae min right away 'cause of his caring self, habits and because of his pity/worried/loving eyes. I was confused at first of min jiwoon's acts but then I understood everything. I liked how he was desperate to get si won(tae min) to confess he was tae min and how he was sure of it. I liked his back story of how he abandoned tae min 'cause he wanted to become someone who could actually protect tae min. Also I really liked how tae min was abanonded by every family member and friend he ever had so goes to show how even in that kind of misery he still wanted to live which was very inspirational. One thing I didn't love tho was how it was a bit difficult to differentiate from flashbacks to the actual story, I think the artist could've just added a black background to state that it was a flashback we were reading but it wasn't too bad it was just a bit confusing for a second. The art wasn't all that bad it wasn't the best but it was sometimes good so not so much of a problem. The plan where min jiwoon got the twin brother to admit everything was interesting and nice since it was really well planned out how he himself gave the brother the secret photograph. I really liked the story of how min jiwoon only came back to his rich dad's household 'cause the original heir had a terminal illness. I liked tho story overall I would def read it again 'cause it was super riveting to read throughout, the end was nice and yeah overall 4.5/5 only because sometimes it wasn't what I thought it would be but that made it even better imo, idk why but I didn't connect completely but i would def give it a 5/5 but for some reason 4.5 seems right. Anyways I quite liked this story :)

Mad Dog

Complete | Haribo | 2019 released

Hello, so I'm still for the extra chapters which are supposed to be +18 however the publisher had really low quality on them and it made it hard to read kinda lol so fuck me ig I got baited with the photos of the manwha cause they showed the scenes and I thought that was gonna be on the main story but it was just the side storys/extras T.T. So this story I quite liked again, the author is amazing when it comes to writing I think they did a great job with both their stories, this story in particular was about a gangster's son which didn't want anything to do with the family business and an orphan which becomes the right hand man of the father of hamin. Sehyuk i think he was a good character 'cause that craziness, ego, confidence was really interesting and nice to see since it went really well with the whole mafia theme, hamin was a nice character as well because he went against hsi father's busniess and was misunderstood most of his life so it was cool to see both these characters being misunderstood but how they both turned out really different, hamin trying to be a nice person while sehyuk becoming a crazy man tbh. I liked the backstory I feel like that justified and explained more the reason as to why they were like they were and I liked how sehyuk even tho he was being abused physically endured all of it for a greater plan and how he at first didn't have anything or anyone he was interested in or anything he wanted and how hamin was the first one to pique his interest which made him concoct a plan to find him later on and make him stay 'cause he could've gotten him in their childhood but sehyuk thought further into the future and how hamin leaving or not wanting sehyuk couldn't be an option which was a crazy plot line. I liked the action scenes I thought those were cool and really made the story more exiting and riveting. I sometimes didn't love sehyuk's attitude 'cause he was annoying sometimes tbh and it made me cringe (not in a cringey way but rather a angry-ish way?) Oml and doyun that whore he was an intriguing character I did like how his inferiority complex unfolded throughout the story, starting with how he liked hamin cause he looked up to him and he just liked that temporary superiority and how when hamin looked down on him for the first time he went nuts and I liked how he felt like he had lost everything which was justice enough (not really fuck that bitch lol) for what he did like sell out hamin's friend and fuck everything up. I dont know much what to say but I really liked reading it, it was really engrossing and I would definitely read it again, but then again I feel the same way about the rating of 5 stars (more about it on the recording) but I will give this one the 5 stars lol. Great author, great characters, the realism (whole trafficking scene) the plot, the drama, the resolution (altho it was a bit short) the slow-ish burn of romance, everything was great. (except the side story with the rape shit tf was that I was expecting a love-dovey kinda thing) :)

Hello, so I quite liked this story tbh I thought I wouldn't like the art or the story but they were both pretty pretty good, I liked both characters, only thing I was like mmm thats it? Is the fight scene like I get it but for the man to just get punched and fail in a minute was quite anti-climatic 'cause the author portrayed him as such a villainous and creepy person but in reality he was just a loser so like meh lol. I liked the whole story how it unfolded and the climax, the resolution, everything was pretty well written, even the part where geonmin and hu hyung almost did it like that was weird but interesting and I liked how geon min acted afterwards saying that it wasn't right. The police not doing anything was kinda a let down tbh 'cause they were so futile throughout the whole case lmao, also I did wonder like, if they're incubus then couldn't they fly and just run away..? but anyways I guess it was part of the conflict lol. I liked it overall tbh I would def read it again but maybe just skip the fight scene 'cause it was pretty boring. And yeah prob a 4.5 out of 5 'cause it was good but like not super interesting but the scenes were pretty good so that was nice. Also after reading some of the comments, they're all pussys tbh like the main characters weren't together when gunmin tried to fuck hu hyung so it wasnt wrong per se, plus he didn't really know about his feelings for couque so like what are y'all talking about, it wasn't wrong nor infuriating like y'all haven't fucked and it shows babes like it was just somewhat realistic and they didn't even do it so what are y'all bitching about, plus they were blaming geonmin for doing that while couque had been kidnapped but like how was he supposed to know? Us as readers obviously knew but the mc didn't so we can't blame him, plus I bet if he knew he wouldn't had even met up with hu hyung so tf are y'all crying about, plus he didn't "need" to tell couque about it afterwards 'cause they didn't even fuck so maybe saying sum like oh we met and he told me he had been struggling with an incubus as well and shit like that would've been fine but saying oh I almost fucked him like yes I understand but it would've done nothing to the story tbh like it wouldn't really matter 'cause at the end of the day the mc thought of couque and thats why he said it was wrong so like stop crying about it 'cause it just shows u guys are deprived of fucking without being in a relationship lol. Also yes it might've been a bit rushed but not really like it was a short read and the only thing I would say was rushed was the resolution but like everything else went its own pace and it was fine, nothing to comment on about. Except maybe the side stories those were actually pretty unclimatic and the resolution wasn't the greatest 'cause geonmin didn't clearly state that he would date couque he just said he liked him, but like he was a bit against looking like a couple so like whats that supposed to mean lol. But overall the comments are wrong like they are just mad about stupid shit lol. :)
