BJ alex

Complete | Mingwa | 2000 released

Liked: To be honest, there weren't very many things that I liked. If I had to pick, it's some comedy aspects. It did make me chuckle a few times. Big props though for the character development both main characters went through. It's what made the story tolerable. It was nice that DG finally stood up for himself and that Jiwon stopped being such an asshole. The first half of this Manhwa made me want to rip my hair out I hated Jiwon that much. His character development was needed and was executed pretty well. Lastly, I feel the side couple were an improvement from the main. They weren't toxic and seemed to enjoy the dynamic they had going. Disliked: The main thing for me is it's mostly all porn no plot. This manhwa could have been better if the plot was a little more fleshed out. Especially for DG's character development. I think it would have been nice to have a whole scene about him properly realizing his worth. Although, a big red flag in this manhwa is some of the sex scenes of the main couple were tip-toeing on the line between becoming rape and SA. Lastly, the Seme, Jiwon, is a massive asshole for most of the story. I couldn't stand him for most of this story. Because of Jiwon's behaviour their relationship was quite toxic for most of the story, only improving towards the end. Conclusion: I read this before a while ago and had originally rated it much higher. However, as I've grown as a reader this story just isn't appealing to me anymore. There weren't many things I enjoyed besides the side couple and the comedic writing. Big props for the character development though, it saved the story quite a bit. Overall I give this Manhwa a 3/5.

Shutline

Ongoing | Kyo Woo | 2000 released

I can’t wait for the rest of it I love how even though it’s a dark romance, there’s no rape, sexual assault, and massive violence in their relationship. This is what dark romance should be. Hopefully, it stays that way as the story continues.

Dear Door

Complete | Pluto | 2000 released

I heard so many good things about Dear Door and was disappointed to find it not to my liking. Many people praise Dear Door so I might be in the minority, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get into it or enjoy the story. Plus I feel many flaws in the story weren't needed. Disliked: The plot was confusing, and some of the lore didn't make sense, causing me to DNF halfway through. Another thing I didn't like was that the main couple had sex at the most random and inappropriate times. It felt like a handful of sex scenes were added just for the hell of it. I'm not opposed to sex being added just for the entertainment value, but it has to make sense. Sometimes there are such things as too much smut. Lastly, all the rape/sexual assault scenes are extremely unneeded and, unfortunately, it is the norm for many manhuas/manhwas. Nothing makes me drop a webcomic faster than romanticized sexual abuse. Liked: The only thing I really liked about Dear Door was the main couple. They were healthy, adorable and lacked toxicity, which can be hard to find in Bl webcomics. However, it's unfortunate that the author, Pluto, had to involve many sexual assault scenes. The lack of a straightforward wouldn't have bothered me as much. If it had just been the main couple, maybe I could have gotten through this. Final Rating: 2.5/5

The Bagel Is Too Much

Ongoing | 페시케이,Pesik | 2022 released

I started this as a joke because of the title. Stayed because it was actually kind of interesting. Usually, I state what I liked and disliked and then a conclusion but since the manhwa was so short, I'm just going to sum it up in a few sentences. The story wasn't terrible and has quite a bit of potential. This could have very well been fleshed out with a strong storyline. Honestly, I would have liked to see a more detailed version with proper character development and storyline. I was glad to see they were both consenting and weren't toxic which is rare to come by in BL. I give this a solid 3.5/5. Ps, I saw him becoming an omega from a mile away.

Stranger

Complete | Seonmyeong , Chub | 2000 released

DNF halfway through. I thought this manwha was going to go a different route, unfortunately, it didn't. Liked: Honestly, I didn't mind the story at first and I thought it was going to go a completely different way. It starts of well but beyond that, this manhwa isn't for me. The only other thing I liked was the art. It was visibly appealing. Disliked: I'm confident in saying I disliked more about this Manhwa than I enjoyed. The biggest problem I had was the age gap. I don't always hate age gaps when they're within reason. However, this age gap felt like a power imbalance. They had sex hours after the main character turned 18. Sure, the love interest rejected the MC at first, but that was only until he found out the MC was finally of age. It felt like he was just waiting for him to come of age. There was also the plot hole where at random moments the MC would get violent thoughts and then just go back to normal. It's not even explained and I DNF at over the halfway point. Conclusion: If you're uncomfortable with weird age gaps like me, don't waste your time reading. There's not much more I want to say. Overall rating of 2/5 only because the first half was decent.
