Run Away With Me, Girl

Complete | Battan | 2019 released

A beautifully written story about two young women coming to terms with themselves and with each other. Midori finally learns to stop accepting things as they are and it really brought out the best in her character. Maki learned to be honest with herself and the one she loves, which I really feel like it gave Midori that extra push to finally speak her mind. This is a must read for yuri lovers who are a fan of soft, heart warming reads. The storytelling is very well done and the art style is different, but beautifully drawn. It's one of those yuris that make you want to know the characters on a personal level, I may be hyping it up more than I should but out of all the yuris I've read in a course of 20 years, this is one I can always go back to without ever getting tired of it.

Maka Maka

Complete | KISHI Torajirou | 2000 released

I think I'll always rate anything from this artist with high marks but Maka Maka was one of the OG yuris for me. Like, the yuri that started my obsession. If you haven't heard of Maka Maka or the artist, you've been missing out. Beautiful full color manga on each page and incredible (yet simple and sweet) storytelling. It really focuses in on how platonic relationships can still be just platonic even if there are sexual activities involved. The artist seems to try to makes the readers understand how much Nene and Jun (the two main protagonists) love one another. A love that goes deeper than friendship and even partnership. A very simple and easy read, smut in (almost) every chapter so be mindful where you read it. It'll be one for the books, one of those yuris you'll keep revisiting throughout the years because the artwork and the story are just that beautiful. This is a must read for yuri lovers.

Moshi, Koi ga Mieta Nara

Ongoing | teren mikami,yuuki nanaji | 2019 released

I really enjoyed this story. It has the perfect amount of drama, fluff scenes, and character development. I'm a little disappointed with how it ended, not a bad ending at all- I just had such high hopes that all 3 would end up together but that's from my own shipping so it doesn't hinder the story whatsoever. Really cute series and easy to read, I'd love to pick up another manga with a similar plot like this one.

Sei Kaihō Sorezore no Ainokatachi

Ongoing | Alt hanakage | 2019 released

This was a really cute read and it hit too close to home TTvTT To my understanding, this was supposed to be a one-shot manga so the chapter uploads are a little weird but nothing you wouldn't be able to read through. Characters were cute, few scenes were a little cringy and awkward (especially Mio meeting Reikas mom) but it didn't ruin the manga. I was hoping for them to have a baby too, felt like it would have fit considering how Reika didn't think she would be able to marry Mio or have a baby with her- and is the main reason she left her- but I can live with them only being married. Could definitely see a reprise/ revisit of them a few years down the line with a bigger bar and a baby on the way. All in all, I give it 3 out of 5 stars. The read was cute, but it didn't really grab my attention. Story was kinda cliché and bland.

Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna

Ongoing | YUZAKI Sakaomi | 2021 released

Loved every second of this. Loved both the characters and their slow development, they complement each other so well! And plus I'm an absolute sucker for artists who don't draw women in the traditional fashion- slim, petite, small shoulder and waist kinda fashion- its so refreshing to see an attractive main character that doesn't fit into that female stigma, plus I absolutely love how she was written. This story is super cute, I wish it was available to purchase in English because I would buy it in a heartbeat! Will definitely be coming back to reread this one in the future!

A Pervert's Daily Life

Complete | Alice crazy | 2000 released

I don't typically read these types of manhua, but I really enjoyed this. What got me reading was the character design, Seyoung was so pretty to me to the point where I found myself screenshotting frames of her face just to draw later. I loved everything about her, I even based a character from my yuri off of her design and personality. The story was really interesting and something you don't see much of when a young man is involved, the title had me thinking immediately that Jinwoo was the protagonist and we'd be seeing the story revolved around him and his perverted tendencies, it caught me off guard when the cute, small, quiet girl was actually the pervert. Outside the art alone, the scenes were beautiful and well written, my only critique would be the embarrassingly long amount of time it took for them to get together. They should have guessed that the other person liked them (especially considering they liked enough to raw dog) and I do not like tropes where no one is even trying to ask the other out with various signs showing that they're interested. I get it makes for a suspenseful story they're able to drag out longer, but it's so very frustrating.

Positively Yours

Complete | Lee jung,Kang ki | 2019 released

This is the quickest I think I've ever read a webtoom/ manhua. My go-to read is mostly yuri and shoujo-ai so I honestly did not expect to complete this one once I stumbled across it, but this was really one of the best romance webtoons I've read in a while. Not only is the art beautiful, but the story is so original and well written. It took insane creative courage to be able to stick with such a plot and be able to execute it beautifully until the very end, I never wanted to stop reading this. I normally leave at least one critique on all the stories I've read, and if I had one, it would probably be how frustrating the communication was for Doo-Jool and Hee-won. It caused a lot of their issues, but to be fair, this isn't really such an honest critique because those situations do happen in real life. I was hoping to have more closure with Hee-won and Min-Wook. A huge reason why she even went out to have a one night stand was because of him, so I'm a little underwhelmed with their development and communication. I hate that she never said anything and just let it fizzle out and die. All-in-all, this was such an emotional read, everything was beautifully done down to the characters, to the artwork, and even the side stories. I'm really hoping to see this artist and author return for more in the future.

Aikatsu! dj: Things have really progressed since that time we got stupidly drunk

Complete | Tyatubo | 2000 released

Frankly put, this story was so underdeveloped, even for a one-shot. Why were they living together if they weren't together? Why did she drink knowing what would happen just to regret it the following morning? Has the blonde hair girl been feeling the same feelings for her or is she only indulging her because they're friends? I have so many questions and none of them have answers. The most logical thing to do to make this even slightly better was at the very least make them lovers from the beginning. There was no plot to this at all, felt like it was snatched from a side story but only the middle part was used. Has the potential to be a good manga if it had a few chapters, but not so great as a one-shot
