Easygoing Oyako
At this point, I'm fully convinced the author wants to fuck their mother. Almost all their work revolvs around a daughter falling in love with her mother. That being said, I still gave this yuri 5 stars because outside of the incest (which, next to NTR, is a bottom tier genre for me personally) this manga was such a joy to read. I love to laugh so any comedy that's done right and actually makes me laugh out loud deserves high marks from me, regardless of the context. I loved the duos and the third wall breaks, I honestly don't think I would have had the stomach to read this if it wasn't for that. This artist has the potential to make some pretty phenomenal, stand-outish yuris if they ever let go of their mother complex. Overall, the story wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Every character is cute and I enjoyed scenes from every one of them, the progression (or lack of I guess) restores a little faith in me and is keeping me from dropping it- because the mother, for the most part, indulges in her daughters antics for the sake of wanting to be a better mother and not really understanding what all comes with that. Unlike their first story (1 x 1/2 My Half of You) where the mother from that story gave thought about dating and potentionally sleeping with her daughter. One other thing I don't quite like is the family tree. It seems Sayaka (the mother) married her first cousin on her dad's side and had a child (Yuuki) with him. Yeah, cultural differences, I understand, but was there any good reason to make that prominent not once, but twice so far? I hope this ends well, I like the story and the characters so far.
The Villainess Who Steals the Heroine's Heart
Too cute for words. Yuris like these are my absolute favorite, it's so nice to be able to comfortably read in public. I also really like yuris that don't need to rely on NSFW scenes to make a good story, this was so wonderfully done, I'm just sad about how slow it is. This is my first time coming across this artist, their art style gives me late 90's early 2000's style art, and I mean that with the most admiration. I loved the art style of this, I loved the characters, I loved setting, I would pay good money to have this turned into a full series. Hoping to see more from this artist in the future, but for now, this will definitely be a yuri I'll gladly revisit in the future!
My Princess Charming
Super cute story and very easy to read. I really liked how it started off, but I didn't care for Yunas personality, however I do understand that her arrogance made the story what it was. I loved Mins character, that boyish style with a cool and coy personality is such a great character trope regardless of the content of the writing. If I have to leave a critique, it would be how Min ended up leaving her first love for Yuna. I don't believe fake lovers should end up together to make a good story, while I agree with the majority that Min's professor didn't deserve her, I personally didn't think Min deserved Yuna in that respect either. I would have loved for Yuna to have ended up with Seyun, but regardless of the outcome, the story itself would have still be good. Here's hoping we get a side story about the professor or even Seyun if we're lucky, I'd be thrilled to read more of this story.
How to End an Unrequited Love
A bit different compared to what I normally read, but this one of a kind story really grabbed my attention from the very beginning until the very end. What I can appreciate the most about this series is how no character beats around the bush, they know exactly what they want, and when they have an issue or something they want to address, they communicate that- if not in the same chapter, then the very next. It was always so frustrating for me reading yuris in the past where so much of the conflicts came from someone not being honest with the person in question so they end up getting hurt! I get it prolongs the story, but if the story itself isn't that good of a read because it relies on cliché tropes like so many other yuris, then outplayed conflicts of interest just makes it so much harder to read through when the readers already know what to expect for the solution. I love the way this story introduced Boksil, a hopeless romantic who had no luck at dating, but didn't let that deter her. If I'd have never looked at the cover photo for the manhua, I would have never guessed that Boksil and DoYoon wouldn't have ended up together. Brave decision to write a story around falling in love with one character just to end up with the characters best friend. I loved Seim's character, but DoYoon was an easy favorite for me. If anyone in this story deserved a happy ending, it was her, and I'm glad she didn't let her first love ruin her perspective on relationships, I had the most worry for her because of that and, although I saw it coming, I knew she and JiYoo would end up together- which I'm also very thrilled for. All in all, the story was amazing, funny, and original, the characters have so much depth and development, and there is so much individuality put into each character introduced, and the artwork is really pretty. Cute, quick, and easy read, this won't be a yuri anyone would regret reading.
Sex Exercise
Not a fan of all the sex related content in every chapter, but maaaaan, I kinda really enjoyed this. Even speeding through the sex scene parts, I still had to scroll back up to take notice at how the scenes were so beautifully colored. Came for the art, stayed for the comedy and storytelling. Although this isn't what I traditionally read as far as genre goes, I still give this a 10 out of 10! Woongs character design from the very beginning is what made me pick up this manhua, I'm a big fan of the cute and fluffy type of character, his personality fit so well given the kind of content this story showed. I'm not as happy with how Yunas story ended however, I didn't care for the sudden "she hasn't spoken to me since that day, I think she blocked me" No, I'm sorry, that was such lazy writing! I really needed that closure! I know Yuna was at fault from the beginning by telling her mom they were dating without disclosing it to Woong, (and yes, most of her obsession came from idolization) but Woong didn't do her any favors either by just looking to her for sex while also dangling her along when he wasn't even sure how he felt about her. Yuna deserved some sort of closure episode with Woong at the very least. It was a given that he and Soohyun would end up together though, it just felt so lazy how they managed to get together. I wish we could have seen more from Woong and Soohyun, all of that buildup for a chapter or two felt a little lackluster, but enjoyable nonetheless. If there is ever a second story or side story, I'd love to also see more from Hani and Miso, I loved Miso so much and would have loved to see so much more of him.
Kissing Lilies
Wish I could have seen more of this, it's cute, simple, funny, and not too steamy, which is the perfect combination for yuri to me. I could see this becoming a series, I'd love to see more from this couple, I love the idea of a clueless, slow starting Dom and an eager shy Sub trying to throw hints at her lol.
Finding Assistant Manager Kim
This is the type of GL oneshots I really enjoy, there was comedy, suspense, light smut, closure, and likable characters- just a little disappointed with how the characters progressed. That "hot, level headed boss who everyone adores" trope is okay to work with if the story is done right, just not sure if it worked as well with a one-shot. With it being the way it was now, everything just seemed to happen way too fast, which, I get it- it's a one-shot, but at least have the characters have some sort of familiarity with one another. The progression from "idol coworker and subordinate to lovers in one night" just seemed to out of place for this kind of story. I do really like this author though, the artwork is always amazing and they make beautiful stories if given the time.
Sweet Little Devil
It's been at least 10 years since the last time I've read something by this author, and going back and rereading Sweet Little Devil now gave me so much nostalgia! Now that I comprehend more of this story, it really is so much more than smut. These characters are so well thought out and deeply rooted to one another to the last detail. After all these years, I was hoping to get another series of Ristuko and Sayo in their adult life with the possibility of going overseas to get married, but I guess that will just be something I think of when I fall asleep now lol. I forgot how much I enjoyed reading this series, how those soft spoken pillow talk scenes really made my heart skip. Despite this being an old manga, it's a fantastic read, I'm glad I was able to stumble across it again.
Sadistic Beauty: Side Story
I can't believe I never left a review on this, I'm glad I finally came back to reread it because this is likely one of the best side stories I've seen. Not too many stories really wrap up side characters by giving them their own story, and most of them are never as good as this one. When I realized this story was about Gyerin, I nearly cried! Out of all the characters, she was my favorite and the one most deserving of love in this series. I was so nervous thinking she might end up with Duna so the excitement I felt knowing her ending would be wrapped up in this side story sent me over the moon! Gyerin was honestly the only character in the story who had any real development and personality. Sure, she was clingy, but not nearly as insufferable as the male lead. After reading the main story and both side stories (yeesh on that yaoi side story) Gyerin and Juyeons was really the only relationship I could 100% stand behind that made the most sense to me. I'm so happy she got her good ending, I love how they wrapped up her tale because at the end of the day, she really was the only character (who got hurt) worth caring about.
Drunken Relationship (Alcoholism)
