Lilith (Sirius)

Complete | Sirius,CHD0_0 | 2000 released

The second portion of Lilith is slightly better but for me, this was hard to follow along with. So many characters lives and backstories got thrown into the manhua and it made it slightly difficult to read through, it could have been slightly more separated in my opinion. I don't like Huilin, not even as a character who's main purpose is to be disliked (which I'm not sure if hers is) but she is just such a cliché villain who ruined the story for me. I almost don't like Jaehee either, her character is weak and poorly written with almost no character growth or development considering the things they had her go through. They only character I have sympathy for is Sulhwa but only because she's so invested in Jaehee and she deserves someone so much better. Overall, the story was good nearing the middle and end (despite having such a hard to follow beginning that just felt all over the place) but it isn't included in Lilith, it gets better in Lilith 2. Though the art might be bleh, the BDSM scenes were great and the emotion from most of the characters was very well done.

My Pleasure

Complete | pito | 2013 released

Oh man, I'm not sure how to even begin... I did read this story once years ago- many years ago- but rereading it again with a better understanding of what went on absolutely gutted me. I really want to say Namsu was the only good character, but even then, she took her anger out on the wrong person and ended up losing literally everything her character was built on at the end. I had high hopes for Joy and Namsu, I was flabbergasted by the twist, but Joy ruined her friendship and is torn up about how it ended and has to be reminded of it every day. Hye-Yeon was horrible from the start to the end, selfish, greedy, you name it, but she didn't get a good ending either. Sure, she got Joy to herself, but she has such doubt about Joy's true feelings for her, she'll spend the rest of her life wondering if Joy really loves her or if she's just being kept around out of Joy's fear of losing her closest friends. No one got a happy ending, but I hurt so much seeing Joy was able to keep at least one person by her side when she caused literally all of the suffering. For her to date them both and only let Hye-Yeon in on it was... why did she do that??? If you really wanted to not hurt them, dating them both is the last thing that should have been attempted! God, I have such a love-hate relationship with this manhwa, the characters (outside of Namsu until the last few chapters) were all bad, but the story is so heartbreakingly interesting that it made me want to come back and reread it after all these years. I want Namsu to have a better ending, she really didn't deserve what Joy put her through.

I like the concept of a short story like this and I love how funny the chapters were, however I didn't know it was the authors own personal life. If her life was anything like what was portrayed in the webcomic... then I feel incredibly sad for her lol. Comedy points aside, no one should have to endure being hit in a relationship repeatedly. I would have loved to see this webcomic become more popular because I do love the comedic portions and it's something I would have gladly paid money for if it were available in a bookstore. Not sure if the rumor about the author and her girlfriend breaking up is true or false, but I do hope she comes back to address this webcomic at least once more to give these two an ending.
