Encirclement Love

Complete | Yodogawa yuo | 2019 released

This was such a cute yaoi, which is saying a lot coming from someone as obsessed with yuri as I am. Loved each and every character introduced, but just slightly underwhelmed with how the story was led. The concept was a little lost on me, I was disappointed that that was the way they wanted to lead into the relationship portion of the story, but nonetheless, it was still extremely entertaining to read through. Loved the characters, loved the tone, and loved the pairings. This author does some very good yaois and huge props for making such great characters without the need of debt or rªpe culture.

I despise NTR and I didn't care for Mel's character but I COULD EAT THIS ARTWORK UP, SCRUMPTIOUS, DELICIOUS, EXQUISITE, DEVINE, IMMACULATE, YUM YUM! Jesus Christ, there's something in me that turns feral when I see a strong, muscular fem. Damn I loved that dark hair character. I loved the art style, could have easily read 30 comics of just her and could have done without Mel honestly. Some of the meaning was lost on me in the second chapter, and Mel was such a little asshole. I would really love to see more art styles like this.

Her ShimCheong

Complete | Seri, Bi-wan | 2000 released

I had forgotten all about this yuri, and very sad I did for a moment, but was delighted at the prospect of enjoying it again from the beginning. Absolutely phenomenal story with such depth in characters, easily a 5 star read! Great story that tackles sexism, classism, and women empowerment. How the romance was implemented was just breathtaking, to say the least. Cheong and Madam's relationship from the beginning to the end was such a Rollercoaster of emotions that was so beautifully written and worked out, I wouldn't be surprised if this yuri was in the top 10 yuris when it comes romance. We get such in depth perspectives of both these characters, not only from their childhoods, but with their relationship as well. I can't say I saw the twist near the end coming, but regardless if I did or didn't, this manhua didn't disappoint when it came to putting me on the edge of my seat nearly every chapter. It was so hard to not hit next chapter that I found myself finishing all 85 chapters in a matter of 5 days. Not only was the story for the protagonists perfectly wrapped up with no loose ends, the author also managed to give all the supporting characters the closure they deserved. I'm very happy I came across this yuri again, it simply is an amazing piece of work.

Hmm... I'm a little indifferent when it came to this. The main reason I like yuri (opposed to yaoi) is because it doesn't involve a lot of that ræpe genre bullcrap in order to make the characters fit each other, which, I guess this one didn't really have ræpe? Maybe? I'm not entirely sure to be honest lol. If it was consensual, then I can see myself giving this a better rating. But outside the "romance", this felt to quick to be just 6 chapters. I could be wrong though, but the last chapter did say 'The End' so who knows. This had the potential to be really good had it continued, like, I can see these two characters both escaping their shitty life in order to find happiness with each other while trying to lay low. I'm just not vibing with the ending. Seems... incomplete. But, like I mentioned I'm not sure if this is the end, so I guess we'll just have to wait in see. With more chapters explaining the characters, what's going on, and maybe a slightly better translation, I may just go back and give this one a higher rating. All-in-all, definitely wasn't a horrible read, just too many questions and not enough answers for me.

A Most Consummate Night

Complete | Sora | 2022 released

Not something I usually read, but I really enjoyed it lol. I originally skimmed it over because I thought it was similar to The Tainted Half, I'm not disappointed with how it went but I really only read through it because it was so short and because I had already made it through chapter 2. Concept was a little lost on me, felt like there needed to be a little more explanation regarding the incense- or at the very least, a little more concern/ confusion coming from the female and male lead. They kinda went along with everything going on a little too well lmao. Overall, this was a nice, quick read with great artwork and nice storytelling.

White Lilies in Love BRIDE's Newlywed Yuri Anthology

Ongoing | Anthology | 2000 released

This was entirely too cute to handle, I typically don't leave comments on anthologies since it's an amalgamation of authors and stories, but this anthology in particular really did something too me. Not sure what it was, but I actually started crying reading the fox wedding story, hormones are a hell or a thing. But to get back on topic, all of the stories were beautiful and well worth the read. I'd love to own the physical copy of this just to have it in my collection because it's something I can definitely see myself going back to reread because of how sweet and cute it was.

Magan&Danai

Ongoing | Ermuzibu | 2000 released

I like the concept of a short story like this and I love how funny the chapters were, however I didn't know it was the authors own personal life. If her life was anything like what was portrayed in the webcomic... then I feel incredibly sad for her lol. Comedy points aside, no one should have to endure being hit in a relationship repeatedly. I would have loved to see this webcomic become more popular because I do love the comedic portions and it's something I would have gladly paid money for if it were available in a bookstore. Not sure if the rumor about the author and her girlfriend breaking up is true or false, but I do hope she comes back to address this webcomic at least once more to give these two an ending.

I Adore you, Teacher

Not vibing with the story one bit. Like always, the art is breathtaking, but this story was... everywhere? I don't even really know how to articulate what I thought about it. I did want to like Seonmin, and I did in the beginning, but pitied her towards the end. The professor is just straight garbage for reasons outside of cheating and manipulation, and I don't even know where to begin with Yujin. Like, all the characters were bad and the ending was horrible. I'm so surprised too because this authors other works are pretty decent, not sure what happened here. Drama be dammed, this was hardly entertaining to read, it just just an amalgamation of sex scenes and nonsense. To give such a complex plot to characters we know little to nothing about and no time to even developed a connection with was bound to end bad, but this read was an all time low for me sadly. There's no one to feel sorry for, no one to be happy for, no one to root for, no end goal or anything and I hate that Yujin still ended up getting her happy ending. I hate that I couldn't enjoy this read, but even so, I still gave it 3 stars just because I love literally every other manhwa the author has made, this one just didn't sit right with me.

Love is fantasy! ~The Queen~

Complete | Fargo | 2000 released

I gotta say, this was an interesting read. Not entirely a big fan of omegaverse style manhua/manhwas, but this one was kinda nice to read. Let me start off by saying how much I LOVE Mujin and I wish he could have gotten some sort of ending where he was happy as well, I even would have settled for a poly relationship amongst the three just to see him happy. I hope there is a spinoff of the spinoff in the future with Mujin finding some happiness outside of theirs. Now, as far as Do-gyeom is concerned... I don't know... I definitely didn't dislike her character, but she wasn't entirely one of my favorites either? I love a good complex female character, but I couldn't bring myself to sympathize with her. And poor, sweet Seung-ah... my precious baby, he didn't deserve anything he was put through, I don't care, I will fight tooth and nail for him! Overall, the story was fantastic. It was suspenseful, complex, interesting, heartfelt, and so many other things. It was truly a good read for it to have been a side story. Regardless, the dreaded 4 star was because of how Mujins story ended. Justice for my man Mujin.

So, Do You Wanna Go Out, Or?

Ongoing | tmfly | 2000 released

A beautiful, breathtaking story about two women who had to learn to love and lose. Seiko was such a great character, strong, determined, steadfast, someone who knew what she want and when she wanted it. Having paired her with someone like Miwa, someone so timid and insecure and unsure of herself nearly broke my heart when Seiko admitted that Miwa was the strong one in their relationship. It really opened my eyes to how Seiko truly saw herself. She was the weak one, afraid of getting hurt or being let down so she set up these barriers to keep herself safe. I fell absolutely in love with this manga, the characters, the artwork, even the sidee characters. Everyone had such intricate stories and relationships and it only stands to reason that not every relationship is going to be perfect, not even with the person you're destined to be with. I loved seeing Seiko and Miwa grow and develop throughout this story, both becoming better versions of themselves, versions they knew the other needed. 10 out of 10 story for me.
