Marie and Alex

Complete | Jung shira,Cho sangduck | 2019 released

This is the first yuri I've seen from this author and their artstyle got me into Drunken Relationship (another yuri by them). It's a shame that it was so short because it was honestly a great story about a master and servant, plus I really really liked the master, she was incredibly written I love the idea of her not thinking of her servant as lesser because of their social status. Like anything from this author, the art is amazing, the storytelling never leaves you confused or uninterested, and the bedroom scenes are so well done, my only issue is the length of the story (or lack of, in this case). I'm sure they had their reasons as to why the story was so short, it just made for a rushed ending considering how much was thrown onto the red haired woman. She discovered she likes seeing her servant cry, then she discovered she liked her servant, then she discovered S&M then she discovered she's the one who really wants to make her servant cry. It felt like there was no time for either of them to understand or explore their feelings, it just all had to be quickly brushed over so the story could be completed. Even so, for a short story, I still give it high marks for being able to have so much conflict and suspense and being able to tell the story smoothly until the end.

Moonlight Garden (Kang Unnie)

Complete | Kang Unnie,MissPM | 2017 released

AAAAHHHHHH! This manhua is so freaking cute! I loved It all! There wasn't one bad chapter! And if it's one thing I appreciate more than anything when it comes to a good story is the twists! Couldn't have written it better if they tried! It's these types of reads that makes you want to keep coming back waiting for the next update because you're so eager to know what's going to happen next! This was a very entertaining, informative, and passionate read, easily a top teir yuri, up there with WDFTS, citrus, Bloom Into You, and Tamin De Gushi.

Bongchon Bride

Ongoing | Son Gae Pi | 2019 released

Goodness, this was such an amazing read for me. I loved Bongchon, his character design, his personality, his temperament, he was written so incredibly well, I resonated with him in so many chapters. Soongap grew on me, I kind of didn't like his character in the beginning, but the growth he developed with Bongchon was undeniably so perfectly written out. I'm so impressed with how the story led through the climaxes, it was so difficult to stop at the end of a chapter and not go to the next. I'm not much of a yaoi reader because of the excessive use of sexual force, so I also really appreciate the trigger warnings placed at the beginning of the few chapters that had it. I don't have a critique on this manhua, everything from the plot, to the characters, to the loose strings was done so well. No questions left unanswered, no characters left unredeemed, and those who deserved their happy ending eventually got it. I'm also glad we got to see off Pilgyeon, I loved his "redemption" (if that's what it could be called) at the end of the story. If we ever do get another series outside of Bongchons and Soongaps fishing story, I would love to see a short story about where Mokwon (the young mistress) and her lover went and how they're living. Of all the side characters, they were my favorite.

The Villainess Who Steals the Heroine's Heart

Complete | Fujii Kasai | 2022 released

Too cute for words. Yuris like these are my absolute favorite, it's so nice to be able to comfortably read in public. I also really like yuris that don't need to rely on NSFW scenes to make a good story, this was so wonderfully done, I'm just sad about how slow it is. This is my first time coming across this artist, their art style gives me late 90's early 2000's style art, and I mean that with the most admiration. I loved the art style of this, I loved the characters, I loved setting, I would pay good money to have this turned into a full series. Hoping to see more from this artist in the future, but for now, this will definitely be a yuri I'll gladly revisit in the future!

Her ShimCheong

Complete | Seri, Bi-wan | 2000 released

I had forgotten all about this yuri, and very sad I did for a moment, but was delighted at the prospect of enjoying it again from the beginning. Absolutely phenomenal story with such depth in characters, easily a 5 star read! Great story that tackles sexism, classism, and women empowerment. How the romance was implemented was just breathtaking, to say the least. Cheong and Madam's relationship from the beginning to the end was such a Rollercoaster of emotions that was so beautifully written and worked out, I wouldn't be surprised if this yuri was in the top 10 yuris when it comes romance. We get such in depth perspectives of both these characters, not only from their childhoods, but with their relationship as well. I can't say I saw the twist near the end coming, but regardless if I did or didn't, this manhua didn't disappoint when it came to putting me on the edge of my seat nearly every chapter. It was so hard to not hit next chapter that I found myself finishing all 85 chapters in a matter of 5 days. Not only was the story for the protagonists perfectly wrapped up with no loose ends, the author also managed to give all the supporting characters the closure they deserved. I'm very happy I came across this yuri again, it simply is an amazing piece of work.

A Most Consummate Night

Ongoing | Sora | 2022 released

Not something I usually read, but I really enjoyed it lol. I originally skimmed it over because I thought it was similar to The Tainted Half, I'm not disappointed with how it went but I really only read through it because it was so short and because I had already made it through chapter 2. Concept was a little lost on me, felt like there needed to be a little more explanation regarding the incense- or at the very least, a little more concern/ confusion coming from the female and male lead. They kinda went along with everything going on a little too well lmao. Overall, this was a nice, quick read with great artwork and nice storytelling.
