Raubritter

Complete | saida nika | 2000 released

The story is only slightly difficult to get into, but after the first 2 chapters, it's actually a pretty good read. It's different, but good. I love art styles like this. It's always pleasing to read through even if the story is trash (which I'm not saying this story was, I really enjoyed it). One thing that will always keep me coming back for more of this authors work is the art style and how well they make their personalities fir their characters to a T, it makes reading the story 5 times better when you know who everyone is and what everyone does from the beginning and not getting confused or mixed up towards the middle. I'm disappointed that it was so short, but good yuris dont need to be chapters long when they're done right. Super cute and entertaining read that will always make me go back and reread it whenever I have the opportunity to stumble across it.

Cirque Arachne

Complete | saida nika | 2000 released

It might be because I have a soft spot for this artist, but they'll always receive 5 stars from me. I felt the same way about Raubritter, the artwork- always beautiful, the characters- always great, the story- has the potential to be incredibly well written if given the time and volumes, but for the short chapters that have been released by this artist, none have ever made me want to not continue reading. The artwork alone is what keeps me a faithful reader. Beautifully written story, albeit fast-paced, full of well written characters booming with personality. I just wish these great series weren't just 6 chapters short. Easy and fast read that you won't regret, beautiful artwork that you'll always remember.

Lilith (Sirius)

Complete | Sirius,CHD0_0 | 2000 released

The second portion of Lilith is slightly better but for me, this was hard to follow along with. So many characters lives and backstories got thrown into the manhua and it made it slightly difficult to read through, it could have been slightly more separated in my opinion. I don't like Huilin, not even as a character who's main purpose is to be disliked (which I'm not sure if hers is) but she is just such a cliché villain who ruined the story for me. I almost don't like Jaehee either, her character is weak and poorly written with almost no character growth or development considering the things they had her go through. They only character I have sympathy for is Sulhwa but only because she's so invested in Jaehee and she deserves someone so much better. Overall, the story was good nearing the middle and end (despite having such a hard to follow beginning that just felt all over the place) but it isn't included in Lilith, it gets better in Lilith 2. Though the art might be bleh, the BDSM scenes were great and the emotion from most of the characters was very well done.

Lilith 2

Ongoing | Sirius,Baram | 2019 released

I had to go back to reread this to give it a better rating. I was too harsh on it the first time because as I was reading it, I kept comparing it to What Does The Fox Say because of the similarities and that jaded my opinion of it. Even then, I was still a little reluctant to give it 4 stars because the story really did remind me so much of WDTFS for obvious reasons outside of the BDSM. The only character worth reading for after a certain point is Sulhwa and I still stand by my opinion that Jaehee doesn't deserve her. I can't say she would have been better off with Huilin, but I felt like the story would have been better if it ended with Jaehee on her own after finally realizing what true love is- Sulhwa was so eager to run back to her and take her back after being hurt by her so many times that it made me almost sick. Sulhwa should have found better, Jaehee should have learned to love and lose, and Huilin... well, I would have liked to have seen more of a redemption from her than a sob apology, so I still don't think she deserves happiness for all she's done, but that's just me. The story would have been so good if the author was more spontaneous in their endings, characters don't need to have happy endings in order for the story to feel like it's completed and that's what I felt like the author was trying to do. All in all, the read wasn't boring in the slightest, there is enough smut and drama to keep anyone entertained, my only criticism is I wish the characters were written a little better. They're all such cliché villains and heros that if it wasn't for the smut, it would have been difficult for me to keep reading but cliché is okay if the story itself is good, so good job author. I'd love a spin-off series of Huilin getting more of a redemption or even U-Young Sun and that student hitting it off.

Be Careful, Onee-san.

It's.... weird lmao! It's a super weird read, but I can appreciate the pacing and approach the author took for this. It takes courage to make a romance genre when there's such a significant age gap, but a working woman falling for a grade schooler was kind of extreme. Thankful that it stayed cute and pure throughout the entire story, but also a little jaded that yuris are able to get away with this sort of content. Like, nothing bad happened obviously, but thinking about double standards and if this was a working man falling in love with a elementary school little boy, that's strikingly alarming and for yuris to get away with it just has my mind going to dark places. Overall, I loved loved loved the artwork, loved the characters, and loved the storytelling, it was an amazing and beautiful read from beginning to end and would honestly like to see another bonus chapter or second series of them being older.

Bad Thinking Diary

Complete | Park do-han | 2019 released

The story was slightly a drag in the beginning with a very outused "I've got feelings for you but I won't tell you until the point where one or both of us gets hurt" trope, however the beautiful art made it worth pressing through the first couple of chapters. I feel like the ending was rushed maybe, there were one or two loose strings I would have liked to have seen get addressed, one huge one is with Hyera. She obviously has feelings for Yu-na that was thrown at the readers out of nowhere, addressed once, and then never brought up again, I would have loved to see more interactions with them both working through that obsession of Hyeras and potentially making up or parting ways once everything was out in the open. Hopefully there will be side chapters addressing this more and peering more into Hyeras background and giving us more clarity as to why she was so obsessed with Yu-na. Overall, I really started enjoying this manhwa nearing the middle and end, phenomenal art, beautiful character designs, and exciting storytelling (even with a cliché trope). Glad to see this artist get so popular from this and I hope to see more from them in the future.

Best Friends

Complete | 하빈유,삵 | 2000 released

I haven't read many alpha/omega-verse series let alone one that's a yuri, I'm still slightly confused about the whole pheromone and heat cycle thing, especially when betas are involved. I've reread this manhua twice because I felt like I needed to read it a second time in order to give a fair rating of it, and even then, I felt like 3 stars was overly generous. Not to say that is was a bad story, I just personally felt like it was narrated poorly, plus the poorly translated chapters near the end didn't help with that. I do believe this could have been a much better story if it was being told from Minjus point of view instead of Hayoons, the entire premise of Hayoon wanting to leave and get away out of fear of being abandoned never even hit me as a possible direction the manhua would have considered taking, such a cliché plot to use when the opposing character is almost always obsessed and in love with protagonist in question without there being a slither of doubt of how much they like the one trying so desperately to get over their feeling/ trying to leave. For me, the story would have done a lot better with us viewing it from Minjus perspective because we already know how she feels and what her end goal is, it would have made for a much more exciting story if we didn't know Hayoons intentions and we got cliffhangers with her just up and disappearing and us not knowing why or where she went. Overall, it wasn't the worse omegaverse I've read- though it might be one of the worse yuri-megaverse I've seen- but despite me being disappointed/ confused with the story and universe, I did still really enjoy every character that was introduced. I might give this manhua another read later down the line once I'm more familiar and comfortable with yuri omegaverse.

Drunken Relationship (Alcoholism)

Ongoing | 조상덕 ,Sangduck Cho | 2000 released

Kinda went through the loop in the beginning, I was confused on who the story was suppose to focus on, not that having 3 or 4 protagonists made it bad though. If the story was suppose to center around Shinbi (the blue hair girl) and Yeju (the redhead), I at least would have loved to see where their trails and troubles eventually lead for them, we got just a glance at that with the afterstory, but after they got together, it seemed like the story went from them to Jay and Nuel. Now if it was actually suppose to center around Jay (the black haired girl), I really really enjoyed the storytelling. Even from Shinbi's and Yeju's perspective, the storytelling was so well done and original. Jay's character is hard to match when it comes to romantic partners, but Nuel ended up fitting that space almost perfectly in the side story, I love their dynamic, relationship, communication, they brought so much to this story. Definitely wouldn't mind having a spin off series of just them. This was an exciting read to me, I loved all the twists, surprises, cliffhangers, and most of all, all of the NSFW scenes (which I'm super picky about). The characters felt so real and relatable without any tropes to try to appeal to the readers. This will be one for the books, one I'd love to forget it's in my list just so I can have the comfort of going back to reread it.

Easygoing Oyako

Ongoing | Taiyaki nakamura | 2019 released

At this point, I'm fully convinced the author wants to fuck their mother. Almost all their work revolvs around a daughter falling in love with her mother. That being said, I still gave this yuri 5 stars because outside of the incest (which, next to NTR, is a bottom tier genre for me personally) this manga was such a joy to read. I love to laugh so any comedy that's done right and actually makes me laugh out loud deserves high marks from me, regardless of the context. I loved the duos and the third wall breaks, I honestly don't think I would have had the stomach to read this if it wasn't for that. This artist has the potential to make some pretty phenomenal, stand-outish yuris if they ever let go of their mother complex. Overall, the story wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Every character is cute and I enjoyed scenes from every one of them, the progression (or lack of I guess) restores a little faith in me and is keeping me from dropping it- because the mother, for the most part, indulges in her daughters antics for the sake of wanting to be a better mother and not really understanding what all comes with that. Unlike their first story (1 x 1/2 My Half of You) where the mother from that story gave thought about dating and potentionally sleeping with her daughter. One other thing I don't quite like is the family tree. It seems Sayaka (the mother) married her first cousin on her dad's side and had a child (Yuuki) with him. Yeah, cultural differences, I understand, but was there any good reason to make that prominent not once, but twice so far? I hope this ends well, I like the story and the characters so far.

Breath Supreme Yuri Fetish Anthology

I don't tend to leave comments on anthologies because of the different variations of stories, however I wanted to leave a few words, at the very least. I've read many anthologies, almost all of them I've fully enjoyed every chapter of. When it comes to this one... well... I don't think the chapters really hit the nail on the head with the title. For a yuri fetish anthology, I probably misunderstood the chapters, but none of them seemed to have anything to do with fetishes. Most of them seemed more like hidden romance or "finally, some alone time" kinda trope. With that being said, I still gave it 4 stars because I loved all of the authors who worked on this, and I actually really enjoyed their stories.
