We are hostages to a pattern of unreal beauty. It sounds cliché but "you can't love someone without you loving yourself first." it's a slap in the face of reality. Our society induces us to feel inadequate in the face of failures, which are part of the successful trajectory of any human being. Since we were a child we have been trained to please and satisfy others to be loved, and it is only after we receive someone else's love that we begin to feel the same way about us.
