Boy Meets Maria
Two troubled young boys share a wish to become heroes but their reason why is completely unparalleled. Arima, known throughout the school as Maria, has been deeply troubled by his gender because of certain events that unfolded throughout his childhood. It isn’t until he meets the new freshman, Taiga, that his deep hatred, or confusion, begin to rise along with jealousy and immense held-back trauma. However Taiga is in a much similar situation. He wishes to rescue a heroin and become the hero he’s always dreamed of. This story is incredibly well thought out. You can really feel such vivid emotion through each chapter, as if experiencing Arima’s or Taiga’s own feelings. Overall, the message the author attempts to convey to their viewers is very clear and well portrayed through the love and tear-filled story of these two young boys, Arima and Taiga.
