I May Be A Mob But Because My Favorite Is Here, Everyday Is Fun

I usually love any sports romance manga but I’m honestly pretty disappointed. The author does a really poor job of representing an intersex person, their characters aren’t fully flushed out and some are terrible people, and there’s plot holes. Spoilers: First of all, our MC got a period which means they have a uterus but to be mistaken as a boy at birth (and when their mom took care of them as a child) their genitalia must’ve been male. I looked it up because I was pretty sure it was misinformation: intersex people with distinctly/ fully formed male genitalia are quite unlikely to have a period, or at least I couldn’t find a source saying it was possible. Don’t get me wrong tho it’s entirely possible for them to have what looks like both male and female reproductive organs, a mix of the two, or even one or the other distinctly. But getting a period implies (not always) being able to give birth, having ovaries and hormones that signal a monthly cycle, and having a uterus which would be nearly impossible for an intersex person with distinctly male genitalia. Getting a period and being shocked by it also rules out a male to female transition. The author was uneducated on a subject they wrote a book abt. And that’s not even talking about how ridiculously irritating maya and her brother were. Oh my gosh I’m not even gonna get into bc they were just pretty terrible human beings. There’s also so many plot holes. For one, the manga bareeeeely touched on the conflict between our ML and mayas brother like why did mayas brother want to get back at our ML. There was a whole lot of implied tension but there’s barely any background development of what happened between them. The brother feels like a character just thrown in to put pressure on our main character and further the plot which is awful for the second male lead.
