This is the kind of story that I think one appreciates with age, or at least it resonates deeply if you've ever gone through the wild ride that is being LGBTQ+ in Asian society. There is a tiredness and jadedness (but a still living and beating hopefulness), mixed with a desire to settle down and the feeling that one isn't getting any younger, and a readiness to give love to whomever would respect that feeling and treasure it that is present in both characters. I really love that, and it's actually something very real and relatable. This isn't a wild, passionate fairy tale, but it's something better imo. I wish I could find more stories just like this in manga.
