Secret Alliance

Complete | Lero | 2000 released

This is what happens when no one goes to therapy. Way too much to go over at 3AM. Pretty art, decent characters and pacing, not an exactly invigorating story, but it's emotional and enjoyable. I'm very satisfied with the ending, though I feel like Sian should've stayed single. The portrayal of Sian's PTSD was also nice, but riding on the idea that she should've stayed single, love wouldn't have helped her overcome anything. Especially after being re-traumatized. I would've liked to see her in therapy and doing things for herself. Being confident, etc. She was trying to detach herself from Yul, but in the end, it just feels like she attached herself to Yujin. 4/5.

Stigma

Complete | Marloong | 2000 released

Kinda conflicted over this. It's by no means a bad comic, it just feels... lacking, I suppose. The characters are great. Very different from what you usually see. Sehyun is an immigrant, which greatly (at least in my opinion) shaped the story. It seems to be based in America, which is pretty refreshing after reading so many stories centered in the 'popular' Asian countries (China, Japan, Korea). Boris doesn't just feel like the stereotypical 'white knight top'. He has depth and a reason for what he does. He's angry and hurting. Even Michael was digestible and believable, which most antagonists fail at being. I don't have to much to say about the plot. It was nicely paced (I probably wouldn't of bothered finishing this story if it was over 60 chapters). But it also wasn't really anything special, but that's not to say I didn't like it--it just didn't really draw me in or catch my attention. Really enjoyed the ending though. It was great. Very emotional. Most likely won't read this ever again. 3/5 stars, but it's more like 3.5/5. Also, side note. Wish 'slutty uke' wasn't a tag for this. For one, can ya'll shut the fuck up with your slut shaming? Secondly, he did it to cope with his trauma. It was all he knew and did it to feel in control/appease Michael. Sure, he might have liked it at times, but that doesn't make him a slut. Can people just have sex? Please? It might be trashy and unsafe, but they don't deserve to be shamed for what they choose to do with their own bodies.

An Uncomfortable Truth

Complete | EErun | 2016 released

kind of boring. really slowed down at the end, especially since i didn't care about any of the characters and wasn't interested in their side plots. the concept of the story (essentially yandere brother) is not new and i don't think this story really added anything significant to the trope. my trypophobia was also triggered over and over so that wasn’t pleasant. not a bad read, but really not worth it for the story length.
