An Uncomfortable Truth
P: Yoseob, normally very quiet and composed, is in the police station convicted of stabbing 8 civilians with a knife. Everyone's wondering whether he actually committed the crime. Does he, a mere high-schooler, really have any reason to have done such a horrifying act?Does his obsessive love for his older brother, Jaeha, have something to do with it? O: ?
The Abandoned Empress
P: As proud daughter of House Monique, Aristia was raised to become the next empress of the Castina Empire. But with the appearance of a mysterious new girl, everything has fallen apart: the Emperor has turned his back, and Aristia’s miserable life as a lower queen is cut short by death. However a second chance to change her fate sees her reborn to 7 years earlier! “Is this a dream or reality? Will my destiny repeat?” O: This is epic. The art is so cute. I can't help but love almost everyone! Except the Ruve (the blue-haired guy). Despite his handsome appearance, he is so unappreciative, disgusting and rude. What did Tia to do deserve his hate?! After she was reincarnated, I feel that he hated her because he was constantly compared to her. Even though Jieun looks so innocent, I feel that she has a darker side. She seemed nice at start, but she's low-key jealous af. And she doesn't do her duty as an empress properly. In chapter 20 near the end when Ruve thinks "What did I ever do to her", when Tia is trembling whilst drinking tea with him, it makes me laugh... yikes and chapter 54? So sad how Tia was traumatised and ended up losing herself. Ik it's not quite this Ruve's fault, but ouch. You did a shit ton of crap later in another worldline... This point was addressed later, which is good. I don't really want Ruve to end up with Tia, but it probably will happen. Allendis (green-haired guy) is such a sweetheart. Aww so cute when he ended up inventing white day. I feel like he's also hiding something too. I mean come on, he can't be kind all the time right? Yep, he seems dodgy/sneaky... I don't know how she doesn't see him for what he truly is. C100 he was revealed to have been obsessed w/ Tia b/c they were kinda similar. Lovely colour schemes. I totally ship Carsein and Tia, Sein is such an honest guy, it's hard to hate him. Jk he can be annoying, but I like direct he is. In front of Sein, Tia is more open and holds no fake appearances. I really love the art! So satisfying to see everyone's awesome outfits. Her dad is so caring ;-; he is such an awesome guy who understands and cherishes his daughter. I really like Tia, she's such a strong female lead. I really really like this manhwa as the characters aren't cardboard. They feel realistic. Tia is relatable, and so cute! Lol long gush. Ok I feel kinda sympathetic towards Jieun after C143... I can kinda see why Tia and Ruve get together later, but damn I still wish Tia ended up with Carsein instead ;-; I just don't see why we got such deep insight into Allendis and Carsein, only for her to end up with the same guy Ruve (albeit he's a changed man). ;-; Carsein.... TT
10 years where I loved you the most
P: KyoZaNa✿: They had been lover since they were very poor, ZhiShu had to share a bowl of dumplings with WenXu. Though at that time WenXu tearily said “For my entire lifetime, I will definitely not let you down.” but ever since they're rich, WenXu has hardly come back home, just spent roguish life cheating, w/o knowing ZhiShu’s fatally sick, about to die.. O: Omfg this is so sad... I feel so bad for Zhishu. He put up with Wenxu's shit for so many years. He's treated like crap by him. Where are the days where Wenxu was so pure and sweet? Then they have sex several times even though Zhishu doesn't feel like it. Wenxu is such a cheating bastard. He only begins to appreciate Zhishu after he realises Zhishu has been sick with leukaemia for a while. I totally agree with Wenxu's doctor friend, he's a real piece of work. I also don't like Chen, screw him... feel kinda bad how he got hit by a car though. Dr Ai is such a sweetheart, so considerate and really caring. Too bad Zhishu doesn't want to disappoint him as he'll apparently die soon. AGH and when Zhishu apologised to his parents at their graves for choosing Wenxu over them... :'( Damn his mum was right, they wouldn't last past 30 years or something.
Spring Snow (Odongtong) Webtoon
P: KyoZaNa✿: After Hajin got exposed that he secretly took pictures of Jiseok, he’s been disdained & bullied by Jiseok & others for being gay.. While Hajin’s about to jump off the school-rooftop, Shiwoo who has secretly lived there as home, bothered Hajin until he gave up.. Seeing Shiwoo’s messy dirty home(tent), Hajin instantly made as bold as to clean all up! Since then.. somehow that place gradually has become their secret hideout, a cozy sweet lil home to cook, plant, do homework or even stay overnight, etc.. O: Dang... I was glad that they didn't fall off the roof, but Shiwoo falling into a crevasse whilst protecting someone else... :( I didn't cry, but damn.
Rift (Conro)
P: KyoZaNa✿: Natsuki's dad suddenly passed away by truck accident. In his overwhelming grieving & confused of loss, Natsuki confessed & forced himself onto his older childhood friend Yuni!! ══ "We don't know when we're gonna die. It's fine even if it's just once.. I know I'm betraying you. I won't anymore, So.. Let me at least take this memory with me..! " ══ Though Natsuki is his "No. 1" but with that abruptly happened, Yuni frightened away in the pouring rain, caught a cold in bed for 3 days.. He got well just to find out Natsuki already disappeared! O: Meeeehhh. It didn't really stand out to me - the plot and art were mediocre. It was an ok read, but to call it good is an overstatement. The rape was also off-putting.
Haruka Tooki Ie
P: Alan meets Hayden, a free-spirited youth one night. The pair hit it off, but Alan's new feelings challenge his fundamentalist upbringing, and disrupts his family life. Hayden, meanwhile, plans on leaving the city soon... O: This looks promising... it's pretty confusing tho tbh I didn't quite understand it.
Nakanai Hibari
P: Kyosumi, an up-and-coming photographer lives with his late best friend's younger brother, Hibari. He looks after Hibari as he feels responsible for the death of his best friend as well as colleague. Kyosumi has sworn an oath to be Hibari's family, after he had lost his only blood relative. I took your loved one away from you. However, Hibari has feelings for Kyosumi which he cannot tell him about...? O: Overall was a good read. I felt a bit iffy about their relationship tho ( ̄∇ ̄") Ik Kyosumi and Hibari's bro were just friends, but this feels wrong to me... in a round-about way it feels like Kyosumi is manipulating Hibari.... idk man... like they waited to do the deed but I still feel a bit hmmm... I don't get how Kyosumi sees Hibari that way tbh. Like since when did they develop romantic feelings for each other...?
Asagao wa Yoru kara Saku
P: "The boy I love is dead.” Yuugen is a sickly, high school boy with zero motivation in life. He avoids interacting with his classmates, and lives an utterly bland and colorless life. However, there’s always one boy who always calls out to him every single day. That’s Hideto, upbeat and outgoing, loved by anyone and everyone. To this bright individual, Yuugen harbors feelings that he has not told anyone. However, one day, Hideto suddenly passes away. While still grappling with the reality of the situation, Yuugen discovers that the ghost of Hideto has appeared before him. Bound to this world by unfinished business, he enlists the help of Yuugen to help him pass on, but…! A summer of love for two boys to purify the soul. A bittersweet love story of a boy overcoming grief and taking the steps into adulthood. O: Fk... this really hit me in the feels. TT Ahhh that ending... it's happy yet also sad...
Paradise View
P: Sequel to Kimi to Parade. Hideo and Tomohisa are lovers and have busy schedules. They go through a heartbreak O: Sweet and fluffy, yet so sad (I cried a lot) Gives off more shounen-ai vibes than yaoi. The ending was sad. SO MANY FEELS. I didn’t realise this is the sequel, but it was nice to read still. The ending seemed a bit sad (Tomohisa died at 50 years old, and Hideo still lives at 70 years old and visits his lover’s grave). Doesn’t really seem like a yaoi, and is more shounen-ai like but it’s still a great read. The art is beautiful. Rereading. C7 - "I've said this before, but I really don't have any interest in *that* way" my ass. I do have faith in Tomohisa tho. I enjoyed this more than the prequel tbh. Man that ending... :( I knew what was gonna happen, but it was still heartbreaking I didn't feel like this manga was a 5/5, but was still a good read. 5-->4
