Jigokuraku (KAKU Yuuji)

Complete | Yuuji Kaku | 2000 released

Exquisite. The art is immaculate. The mix of harsh lines to add intensity to the fight scenes and super detailed yet more soft drawings of monsters to indicate a certain middle ground between disturbing and comforting: Nirvana. Beautiful imagery of Yin Yang, despite semi nude drawings, the context and way it is drawn proves that it is not at all fanservice that a lot of shonen tend to add but rather art. The characters are all living with moral dilemmas and some are evading those by sticking stubbornly to their ideals. While some might call them close-minded it is impossible to blame them because there is no right or wrong. The events that occur are bot at all in vain. The pacing might seem inconsistent at certain spots but overall it’s very satisfying. Personally really liked the input of actual historical facts and information. Hells Paradise is a manga that shines apart from most shonen. My respects to its Mangaka. 9/10 A legendary shinobi. They caught him. He awaits death. But he can’t die, rather he won’t die. When given a chance to be pardoned for his heinous crimes, he doesn’t hesitate. He shall venture into the Nirvana island to find an elixir, an island nobody seems to leave unscathed…

9/10 Incredible. I don't even know how I'm gonna write this review, bc it's just so.. great. The art is fantastic. Shoutout to the whole team frl, they ate, left no crumbs, licked the plate clean omm. The story starts off typical and good, then, it gets twisted asf and honestly kinda hard to grasp but in a good way. You could feel the mangaka's genius in that storyline. It's like watching Inception for the first time -- it's fantastic, but you know you were too dumb to completely appreciate the story. The ending was worth it. I LOVE THIS SHIT GOD DAMN JUST READ ITTTT
