Homeless/No Home
This is a lightweight manhwa that is very easy to read and finish. The main characters have depth to them and are not made to be obviouslyyyyy liked nor disliked by the readers. They are simply who they are with their own luggage — there is no good guy, nor a bad guy. The supporting characters are also well-written and present enough, not too much & not too less, enough to help the story be well-rounded. The themes explored are very real and not brought up half-assedly. There’s domestic violence, family problems, negligence, mourning, alcoholism, etc. The author seems to want to call these things out and implicitly raise awareness for it (I think) and not just use it as a lore for x character. Also! The highschoolers are highschoolers!!! No hypersexualization of them — they are very much so kids. There is no romance, nor any lowkey tension between characters so don’t go in there expecting that. IT DOESN’T MAKE IT LESS GOOD. This manhwa doesn’t need romance tbh and I’m a romance fein so trust me. I enjoyed reading every chapter of this and I am sad that it is coming to an end. Though, the ending was well-paced and well-written (didn’t feel like the author was giving up or just was in a rush). I am very grateful to the author for this work, I’ll be reading more from them! Also, enormous thank you to the One Who Does It All (I think is their name but idk, the translator/scanlator/proofreader/etc.) for picking this up and giving this to us — you’re really talented and funny and nice. :) Finally, thanks to myself for taking a fkn chance with this, I fear I ate. 10/10 refreshing. Can’t think of a reason why the rating would be lower. (Maybe just missing epilogue but maybe it’s coming)
