Nobara (KUMOTA Haruko)

Complete | KUMOTA Haruko | 2009 released

4 Chapters NOTE: supposedly there's more, but it obviously has long since been abandoned and marked as complete despite the fact 1-3) Single Father / His Friend/Boss — ★★★★☆ 4) Trans Woman / Gay Man — ★☆☆☆☆ CW // Mimi really likes this gay guy who likes her back, but when they finally talk about their feelings, he tells her that he can't bring himself to love a girl and Mimi ultimately decides to put her own happiness on the back burner for him and decides that she'll live as a man so they can be together and the whole situation is treated as a sweet romantic thing, but it made me really sad and left a bitter taste in my mouth because what if the same is true for me? What if the only way *I'll* ever find love is if its with someone who can't love me as I am? I guess the story's kinda cute but it's made me super insecure about myself.

Haru ga kita

Complete | Mochino Kome | 2017 released

5 Chapters CW // one of the two main characters is a CSA survivor with a traumatic past—also the (super annoying) scanlators who picked it up halfway through have no sense of tact when crediting their redrawers since there's an ugly doodle of a woman with a nosebleed holding a sign that reads "fuck him hard in the butt" next to the decensored pages of the underage character being groomed, manipulated, and raped, which really rubs me the wrong way NOTE: the story contains dark elements, but also has positive representation of a trans man who doesn't fall into any stereotypes and is actually a decent person who wants to look out for his nephew(?)

7(+1) Chapters Kurama is in the closet due to his homophobic father, but fantasies about having sex with men (particularly his kouhai, Kirishima). Through a series of complex interactions, Kirishima ends up forcing himself on Kurama, who is traumatized and leaves school because of it. Kurama is then further assaulted by one of his theatre club members and taken to the hospital, where he's forced to come clean about his sexuality to his father. Three years later, Kurama and Kirishima reencounter eachother and carry on an extremely unhealthy, borderline abusive relationship, which is treated as "normal". It ends with a pseudo happy ending where you're just kind of left to ignore how bad the two main characters are for eachother and how dubious the consent is when they have their goddamn marathon sex. I don't know why all the tags are so positive. This doesn't have any real romance in it. It's just bad and the "adorable" "uwu" "romance" tags make me feel pretty disgusted.
