5 Chapters 1-2) Catholic Priest / Troubled Youth — ★★★★★ Father Ross, a Catholic priest, witnesses a troubled young man named Cliff (sometimes Leif, translation varies) attempting to rob a store. Ross talks to him and is troubled by Cliff's insistence that he was doing god's will. As Ross becomes more worried and pries deeper into Cliff's life, he discovers that the boy has been indoctrinated into a cult, but the cult captures him before he can escape. From then on Cliff shows him kindness and affection, and the two of them become entangled in a complex relationship, both trying to save eachother from their perceived "false gods". 3-4) Human / Plant — ★★★★★ Businessman Hana discovers an abandoned houseplant outside the flower shop of Miki, a man who dislikes him despite his best efforts. Hana takes the plant home to prevent it from being stolen, but that night, the plant starts to speak to him, and claims to have met god. One day, Hana drinks and falls asleep with his new conversation companion resting on his chest, only to wake up and find out that the plant has grown into a human!
