[[THIS IS TO BE POSTED WHEN STORY ENDS]] *clap.........clap..........clap.......clap.....clap....clap...clap...clap..clap..clapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclapclap* FINALLY!!! Finally the communication is here. It's a breakthrough, though we don't know how long it will last. You know, it's VERY EASY to watch, hear/listen, and or read about a toxic relationship, point out all the toxicity and the faults of the characters, and make judgments. It's VERY EASY to say what YOU would've done or not done or said in a situation. 22 years ago, when I was 18, I read a lot of toxic fanfiction and a bunch of "bodice ripper" novels and say, "Oh no he di-int! Giiiirl, if that were ME, I would've yada yada yada and some more yada yada, cause I would yada yada, and then yada yada, cause ain't no man gonna yada yada yada ME!" And then a year later, I got in a toxic and abusive ass relationship that, at the time, I couldn't escape, but at the same time....I refused to let go. All that shit-talking I did and ended up doing what I said I wouldn't do. And now, when I read stories, I still point out things, judge the characters and their decisions, and point out their good points and their faults bc I've been through some of it. TWICE, two separate times. I'm sure there's more than one of you who's been through the same thing or something similar. At the end of the day, yes, it's just a story, but the romance elements, obsession, toxicity, abuse, the ridiculously happy moments and feelings...majority of those things, if not all, are very real. And we're all different people, different ages and experiences, in different cultures, who think, process, and handle situations differently. Not everyone communicate the same way in a situation. Not everyone is going to like a decision or even like the same story. And you know what? That's okay! Arguing about these things will get us nowhere. But can we all at least agree it's great to have a community to (*ahem!* illegally) read stories and be able to have discussions and see the different points of views.
