If You Wish for My Despair
I'm curious but I want to wait until it's complete if possible. SPOILERS about the ending of the novel : - "The duke is the main lead but not her love interest, in the end she make the duke fall in love with her and commit suicide, only for the duke to suffer. It was bittersweet ending but I like it." - " I don't know if it's true so she love and hated the ml. Her extreme hatred and mental pressure cuz her death. She told the ml to never look for her in their next life. Time passed by the ml lived a lonely life, became a old man and died of old age but he returned back to time somehow and met the fl as a child. That's how this ends."

Perle
So without any surprise Pearl is Maximilian the Crown Prince. And he dies at the end of the novel so that's that. Can't say I'm surprised, since Jean and his comrades are preparing for a revolution, and that's why he wants to approach Maximilian in the first place. In hope to attract the attention of the Archduke (his cousin/uncle). The current Emperor is stuck in bed and the Emperor's younger brother is the Archduke Robert, who is eagerly seeking the throne. Jean will start to wonder if Maximilian is Little Pearl or not. Then even when he starts to doubt that, he will realize that he doesn't want to leave him anyway. He has a fake engagement with the woman Ariel, the one his comrade said was Little Pearl. But during that night, Max came in disguise and they share a bed. After that, he decides that he wants to protect/save Max by asking him to run away at night in disguise before they attack. A carriage with one of his comrade (Cornell) who wait for him. Jean, along with Archduke Robert, invaded the imperial palace with an armed army and kill the Emperor. But he didn't know that Max didn't leave. So he got killed and that's when we discover that one of Jean's comrades (Cornell) was in fact one of Max's henchmen. Anyway, at the end he leaves with the Emperor's mistress and she gives him a painting that Maxi asked her to give it to Jean. The painting from the first chapters, where Jean is lying in the bed. Anyway, Max acted as a debauched and foolish prince while he was helping the revolutionaries behind the scenes. Since he had no power and all, contrary to the Archduke. m.blog.naver.com/mapildoo/222111827537 https://m.blog.naver.com/choi04-01/221318469139
