Kichiku, Encount
2.8, I would’ve left this rating at perhaps a 3.5 or so but multiple times of r@ping which is what it is even if you draw the uke “enjoying” rather than crying with a traumatized expression is unacceptable. Sorry to crush the authors dreams of enjoying r@pe i guess? It’s odd the author felt so proud about it in the end message. Both the main story and side story only have non-consensual sex going for them. And it sunk even lower when after the final r@pe scene, it was followed by the Seme r@pist in tears portraying himself as a dejected victim while admitting his love and were supposed to feel bad for him? Unlikely. All he did all this time was yapayapayapa, but he can’t acknowledge his feelings under after forcing sex on the person he supposed loves the most. Yeah, right. Not rereading.
Hang Out Crisis
2.0, the storyline is two playboys who have coitus then develop feelings through a jagged way. They have coitus, feelings are misunderstood (one falls in love, the other calls him a placeholder), the one that fell in love starts to try to move on with another random character who actually treats him better, but he can’t move on from his original playboy friend, oh but they can’t make amends. No. Playboy friend who called him a placeholder has to get jealous, get caught up in feelings he hasn’t been able to acknowledge or process, and decides to r@pe him instead. The only reason this doesn’t get less than 2/5 is because the Uke gave him a mean ass punch to the jaw which I wish more characters were capable of. In the end, there’s an apology that supposed to be more significant than it is in reality because he’s a spoiled rich boy who’s apologizing for the first time in his life likely. But it’s not that significant, because overall this manga has little substance in plot and more substance as exhibitionist porn. Not rereading.
My X report
5.8, I actually really liked this one despite its initial impression. For a manhwa that has a lot of comedy built into it, it still manages to have a plot with character development that’s engaging. The two main characters are easy to like, although I admittedly would get a little annoyed with the Uke in times where he very clearly wore his thoughts on his face and thought otherwise, but it added to the comedy and the resolve. I very much like that the resolution did not involve some spontaneous reveal of the Uke causing the Seme to be hurt and distraught to the point of them not speaking w/ the Uke getting hurt like many manhwas do. This one was unique, kept the misunderstanding to a minimal, and everything was confronted up front in the end. I just wish the ending involved them after officiating their union. (Also love the side characters in this, many of them were delights and unknowingly played roles that really helped carry the storyline). Would reread again for sure.
Honey Maple More More Sugar
10.0, it’s really cute art actually especially the scenes where they’re in a mind scape involving their shared hobby of cute items such as hand-sewn stuffed animals. I really adore that the Seme has such a rough exterior with accompanying expressions yet he’s gentle, he’s adoring, and my favorite of all, HE PRIORITIZES CONSENT. That’s what happens when you’re deeply n wholly devoted with someone’s well being. Nice to see that it breaks away from the toxic norms in this genre. I’d def reread again.
