150.99, I love this manga so intensely I could debate every aspect about it and tell you why it rocks but it’d be far too much to write in a single review. First off, no SA, r*pe, sexual harassment, nothing. Everything is a progression, a story that nods to fate as it feels like something beyond them that brings these two character together, ohhh I adore this story deeply. There’s so much character depth and background available when you intertwine their backstory to the way these characters process their thoughts. Everything diametrically aligns, just breathtaking art to top it off and honestly it’s masterpiece. I’ve reread this SO much.

Hyanghyeon Text

Complete | Chepali, Im Ae-Ju | 2000 released

3.9 or 4.0 thus far. 1st off- uke become interested in seme way too quickly. Seme deadass grabbed him and tried to get lovey OUT OF NOWHERE- it isn’t even clear why he’s interested in the uke before he non consensually smooches him. Then Uke moves to Seoul jus cus… he finds the seme interesting?? I don’t get it. It’s lacking development. I feel like I would’ve even accepted a scene written in where Mookya visits the Uke at the cafe for another 5+ months building rapport while the detective friend visits too in an attempt to bring the Uke in as help before moving to Seoul. And why didn’t he do anything about the blonde man? He just keeps going along with shi I don’t understand why. He’s literal friends with a cop and didn’t call the cops. Even when he was clearly being a red flag. But worse of all- the fucking incest plot. WHY ARE YOU REWARDING AN OFFENDERRRR- if it was like victims guilt or victims coping, I guess I could see from a practical standpoint why he’s not visibly more affected but the entire time the brings up memories of being roped- ITS ALWAYS FOLLWOED BY A DEFENCE OF “oh he was abused and-.” -_- bffr, nothing justifies his actions, that’s bull.

5.0, the age gap I’ll address first- yeah I’ll admit that’s uncomfortable. Why a child? Why a 10 yr old? I suppose it’s to give a larger year gap to allow for the unwinding of the nation under the tyrant king but i had uneasy feeling the entirety of their bond forming for the first 6 chapters. Besides this, a wonderful story actually. No SA, no grapes, no BS. An omega character lifted from a miserable situation to be surrounded by people who hold adoration to him and empower him to act on his independence? Who could ask for more out of a brief manhwa like this. And they truly didn’t engage in intimacy until legally permitted (even postponed coitus until things settled after the Coup De Tat) so big ups for that. There’s honestly no critiques I’d have, I could reread this a few times surprisingly. (Also someone said there was no pheromones, kids, pregnancy— 1) there was pheromones twice. if you need me to point it out lmk. 2) I don’t think kids and pregnancy is required in an omegaverse. They have a nation to rebuild, their new nation are their children. now if you had said ‘aww I just wish there was more because it’s so good and I’d love to see their what their babies look like’ like others, then I get it but don’t put this manga down b/c it’s a green flag in a sea of bloody red waves which is genre normally is).

1000, I’ve reread this repeatedly and every time im kicking my feet up in the air, real giddy type shit. I just love the plot so much, it’s perfect in every way. In fact, one of the few mangas that made me a lil envious- I want hishimoto T^T PLZ!! I love this couple they’re adorable, they communicate, they work things out, Hishimoto is fully into servicing his partner and keeping him happy, and they just heal eachother in the healthiest cutest way ever. I love it. BEST EVER

1, I try to be more constructive in my criticism for mangas to I’ll try my best to do so while putting aside my person contempt. What plot is there? Any manga that uses sexual assault or rape as a story’s climax has little depth. Because what, besides trauma, could give a plot of that type any depth at all. It feels as though they were trying to tap into a plot that focuses on the discrimination of minorities such as Mpreg individuals but it constantly missed the mark by simply appropriating that stigma that they’re weak, helpless, can’t be strong or defend themselves. On top of this, I resent a story built on a naive main character. He’s already a minority in the sense of his gender (Mpreg), but now he’s naive and getting fooled into ‘falling in love’ with someone who’s pushing his feelings onto him. Stockholm. For 90 chapters, I thought at least it would progress past high school, they reach college, find independence, take a few days to a few weeks to explore if he really likes his partner or if he was just projecting a reflection of the feelings/affection he received. But no. None of this development. Sure he punches a dude at the end but really, at 80 chapters? Just disappointing. This only gets one star (versus zero) because the art is very beautiful. It’s a familiar style and there’s been other stories in this style that is better thus I think the art has a good rep.

Tategami ni Airabuyuu

Ongoing | Kujirada hiroto | 2019 released

5.0, this ones pretty cute in the end when they start bonding based on comparability fight but also based on when you care for someone so much you give a special type of TLC to them. It’s really cute. I wish there were more chapters though, gotta agree with others, I especially would’ve loved if the volumes continued to them being more mature in college etc. with less fighting and more calm couple growth. I could reread again, just wish there were more sappy moments without a swollen face or the mentions of beating someone to a pulp.

My Darling Liar Boy

Complete | Akai shirafu | 2022 released

10.99, I love love LOVE this one it’s so darn cute. I absolutely love by the way a Uke that’s so extremely soft and in love with their Seme but can still kick ass. And I love how level headed and green flag the Seme is. I feel like reality would’ve been that the twins could’ve guessed how the Uke was feeling by the time the Uke refused to admit to the prank or at least try to talk to the Uke one-on-one about why he wanted to refuse but in the end their contribution didn’t matter much anyway I suppose. Would reread it again since the climax wasn’t too bad, there wasn’t a long-drawn out resolve so I’d reread this one again for sure. Such cute art style too.

4.8, honestly I could give this full marks because there was minimal dubious consent and NO grapes, but… middle chapters felt a bit repetitive to me. Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s necessary to properly watch the development of each characters and their processing. I just found myself wondering how many more chapters there’d be before actual outward development would occur which indicates I felt there was some drag. In that sense, I wish there were more chapters that covered the aftermath of their union as thoroughly as the pre-union. In addition, I tend to be more resistant to Semes that tease and taunt their Uke, it makes their soft loving union feel undeserving for them but in this sense they showed a genuine side of the Seme that made this more bearable. Although this inspired me to make a plot/storyline version of this wherein the Uke (class president) truly rejects the Seme, but wants to remain genuine friends into adulthood, wherein the Seme continues to have feelings for him until he meets someone else and follows the Seme from there. (A familiar plot line to vets of the genre but from the Seme POV which is a bit unique). I could reread.

4.1, this is one of those unique plots where it’d be pretty unfair to rate based on plot depth but I rate it on a lower end because it feels that the Semes characteristics were indecisive. He’s off-the-bat portrayed as foolish, someone who gets himself into situations that cause trouble to himself unknowingly, yet at times with his Uke, he seems aware and able to be witty. I wish there were more consistency. And I think there was minimal dubious consent. It’s really cute that the son is so aware and sweet though, the art is pretty as well. But the end feels rushed, it would feel more full rounded if there were chapters that covered their overcoming of acceptance with the Semes mother and colleague/friend. May not read again though.
