Asahi, the Cheeky Crossdresser

Complete | Taro Torimaru | 2000 released

5.2, I like this one a lot for the fact that despite it being a guy who’s seemingly straight (as implied by his own friends at school and admirers) he’s actually queer (bi/pan/demi/etc.) and comes to recognize this himself without thinking he needs to suppress it and this isn’t one of those tropes that’s a guy dating his guy bsf while still identifying as straight with an exception. His fluidity with this is nice to see in BLs like this, similarly it’s interesting to see how the crossdressing persona developed a sense of gender dysphoria for the Uke and how the Seme was able to assist in remedying this. It would have been cool to see if, later when Miu is mostly forgotten, the Uke could have been a solo model as a male and become this queer celebrity to look up to. At the same time, it’s humble and nice that he turned to hairdressing which is similar to the world he was in for modeling. I don’t particularly like tsundere plots but this wasn’t as insufferable as normal for this genre so it works. I’d reread it again for sure, it just felt like second jealousy misunderstanding situation was unnecessary. But at least they remedied it quickly, I’d reread it again as a short manga.
